Cambridge United face Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow night (19:45) as a result of the League Two side`s dogged display at home, earning themselves a replay in the FA Cup fourth round. The winner of this tie will take on either Preston North End or Sheffield United away from home in the next round of the competition, these two teams also playing tomorrow after their first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Cambridge, Manchester United game ended goalless at the Abbey Stadium back in January though tomorrow`s home side are the massive favourites to see off their League Two opponents in 90 minutes. The best price on a victory for Louis van Gaal`s men is 1/11 with both betfred and Totesport whilst a win for Richard Money`s team can be picked up at 40/1 with Betvictor and Stan James. If you think that the game will be tied once again after 90 minutes, Betvictor have the best price of 12/1. Both Coral and Skybet have odds of 33/1 on the fixture ending without a goal for the second time in succession.
Should the game remain tied after the 90 minutes and requisite extra time, it shall go to penalties. paddy Power have 66/1 on both sides winning after the squeaky bum time of spot kicks.
The Reds have played only one game since their shock failure to qualify at the first time of asking. This was against Leicester City in the Premier League, the fourth placed club securing a 3-1 victory over the side at the foot of the division.
United went 3-0 up in the first half, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao putting the North West club in front before Wes Morgan`s own-goal just minutes before half-time. The team failed to build upon these foundations in the second 45, instead conceding a late header from the Foxes` Marcin Wasilewski.
These Leicester scorers, van Persie and Falcao, are the hot favourites to hit the back of the net against Money`s men tomorrow. The former can be backed at 11/4 (betfred, Betvictor, Coral, Totesport) to break the deadlock whilst the latter is 3/1 with a number of bookmakers to provide the game`s opener.
With many expecting the match to be a United goal-fest, these two players are both 16/1 with betfred and Totesport to grab themselves a hat-trick and the match ball at the end of the 90 minutes. Their side is 8/13 with Skybet to win to nil.
Cambridge currently sit in 14th position in League Two having played two league ties since their draw against the Premier League titans. The U`s first clash was at home to strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge, this ending 1-1 despite Cameron McGeehan putting his side ahead in the first half.
The mid-table club managed to hit two past promotion contenders Luton Town but failed to take even a point from the game, their away fixture ending 3-2 to the side looking for back-to-back promotions into League One.
Luton went 3-0 up in the first 45, with Johnny Hunt and Robbie Simpson`s goals being unable to see Money`s men back on level terms in the second. Cambridge`s away form has improve dramatically recently, earning themselves seven points from their last five games on the road. What isn`t so great is the fact that this was the second time in these most recent fixtures on the road that they had conceded three goals (they also did this against Stevenage) and Manchester United are 9/20 with betway and Titanbet to score over 2.5 tomorrow night. In opposition, Manchester United have recorded four wins from their last five Premier League matches.
