Reigning Miami Masters champion Novak Djokovic will take on David Ferrer tomorrow in the quarter-finals of the 2015 renewal of the competition. The Serbian`s title triumph last year was his fourth successful Miami attempt following tournament wins in 2007, 2011 and 2012.

His opponent is a one-time Miami Masters finalist, the Spaniard taking on Andy Murray in the 2013 final. Murray would only pick up two games in the first set as Ferrer made a blistering start to this final though he would be defeated when the Scot would take the second set by six games to four and the last on a tie-break. Last year Ferrer would exit in the fourth stage of the competition, losing out to Kei Nishikori in three sets (6-7, 6-2, 6-7).

This encounter will be the 19th time that the two men have met on court in ATP tournaments. The current world number one, Djokovic has picked up the win on 13 of these occasions, a win rate of 72%. Just taking into account hard court matches, the pair`s head-to-head record reads Djokovic 11, Ferrer 2. The only time the two men have met in this competition was in the quarter-final of 2012, the Belgrade-born star running out the straight sets winner on his way to taking home the crown. The opening set was secured by six games to two before the second was decided on a tie-break. betfair have the best price on a tie-break appearing at any time during the match, this is currently at 11/5. william hill`s 17/4 says that a tie-break will be fought out in the second set once again.

The last time the two men met on a hard court surface was in the Shanghai Masters of last year, a tie again won in straight sets by the 50-time ATP title winner. That result read 6-4, 6-2 in the Serbian`s favour. Whilst sportingbet`s 20/41 is the best price on Djokovic seeing off the world number seven in straight sets once again, ladbrokes` 4/1 is the price on him needing three sets to grab the victory.

Indeed the reigning champion is the 1/7 favourite to take the tie by any means. This best price can be picked up at sportingbet. In contrast, supporters of the underdog will be able to get the best price of 6/1 on Ferrer running out the winner of the match at a vast number of bookmakers.

There may be some value in the match going to three sets, the best price on that being 3/1 at ladbrokes, as Djokovic has already been taken to three sets twice in this tournament by lesser opponents. Receiving a bye into the second round, the 27-year-old recorded a bagel victory over second stage rival Martin Klizan before the Slovenian fought back to take the second set by seven games to five. He could only take one game in the third set against the eight-time Grand Slam winner.

In round four, Djokovic needed to come back from losing the first set on a tie-break to beat Ukrainian Aleksandr Dolgopolov. The 6`2" Monte Carlo resident managed to do this, taking the second set 7-5 and the third by hitting his third bagel victory in as many matches. No bookmaker has yet opened a book on there being another 6-0 set tomorrow though ladbrokes` 6/1 says that Djokovic will lose the first set but still win against Ferrer.

These ties bookended a straight sets victory over Steve Darcis in the third round (6-0, 7-5).

Being the tournament`s sixth seed, 32-year-old Ferrer also received a bye into the second round. To reach this stage he has had to see off Federico Delbonis (6-1, 6-1), Lukas Rosol (6-4, 7-5) and Gilles Simon (7-6, 6-0).
