With the top two (Forest and Watford) not meeting until Sunday then four clubs will look to take advantage on Saturday and go top of the table. One of these sides are QPR who travel to Bolton in the live lunchtime game (SKY 12:15). The Lancashire side are the 7/4 (SPREADEX) favourites for the game as they look to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend which made it no win from their opening three league games. Dougie Freedman might point to the fact that the Trotters have been unlucky with injuries with Chris Eagles going off in the season opener and Mark Davies being a long-term absentee. Without these two they have lacked a creative edge and with Darren Pratley, one of their few standouts so far this season, being suspended they do not represent value.
QPR are 19/10 (william hill) as they seek their third victory this season though both of those have come at Loftus Road, in fact they have only won one of their last nine away in the league. Throw in the fact thee likely absence of key player Junior Hoilett and this looks a tough match market to predict.
Andy Johnson is expected to miss the game so Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin will lead the line with the former 5/2 (SKYBET) and the latter 2/1 (BETVICTOR/888 SPORT/unibet) to score anytime. Those looking for a Bolton player can get 5/2 (BETVICTOR) on Craig Davies, David Ngog and Jermaine Beckford.
Those looking for value should go with David Wheater in the anytime scorer market. The Bolton defender went close last weekend hitting the crossbar from a set piece and he will fancy his chance against a QPR side that ranks fifth lowest in aerial duels won. Wheater is strong in the air and is available at a generous 14/1 (SKYBET).
Blackpool have shocked a few people this season with a strong start though you have to wonder if they can keep it up, The Tangerines face their toughest task yet as the host Reading and it is 2/1 (bet365) a home victory, 5/2 (bet365/BETVICTOR) the draw and 6/4 (GENERAL) a Royals victory. Leicester are another side who have started the season well and they will fancy their chances against Birmingham though odds of 8/11 (GENERAL) on a Foxes win do not appeal.
Another side who can go top on Saturday evening are Burnley and they are once again being overlooked when they visit Brighton. The Clarets rank third in shots per game in this division this season and have netted twice in their last two games. They visit a Brighton side who have lost all three home games, twice in the league and to Newport in the League Cup. The Clarets can be backed at 16/19 (188 BET) on the Asian Handicap with a 0.5 start which pays out on the draw or an away victory and this looks the best bet of the weekend in this division.
Another bet I like the look of is Lewis Grabban to score anytime for Bournemouth against Huddersfield. The Cherries front man might have been forgotten about after the start to the season Troy Deeney has had but he has also been scoring goals for fun netting all four Bournemouth goals this season. I am shocked to see him at 14/5 (888 SPORT/unibet) to score against a Huddersfield side with just one home clean sheet in their last eight.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Burnley on the Asian Handicap +0.5, 16/19 (188 BET)
SILVER: Troy Deeney to score anytime v Huddersfield, 14/5 (888 SPORT/unibet)
BRONZE: David Wheater to score anytime v QPR, 14/1 (SKYBET)
