Arsenal fans travelling to the game in Turkey might want to consider bringing a pair of boots just in case they are needed such is the extent of the injury crisis at the club. Arsene Wenger must find a way to patch together a team and morale as they seek to qualify for the group stages for the 16th straight season and they are 3/8 (888 SPORT/unibet) to do so.

Fenerbahce won 12 of their 17 at home in the league last season and are 9/5 (bet365) for victory in the first leg which would make the first time since 2008/09 that they would reach the group stages of the Champions League. The Turkish side will take heart from the way they reached the Europa League semi-finals last season winning four, drawing two and losing just one of their seven games. You can get 5/2 (GENERAL) they reach the next round.

Dirk Kuyt is one of a numer of players English fans will recognise along with former Premier League players Joseph Yobo and Raul Merieles. Around 30 million was spent this summer (the kind of money Gunners fans can only dream about) to strengthen the side with among others Emmanuel Emenike from Spartak Moscow and Bruno Alves from Zenit coming to the club.

Arsenal have lost just one of their last four away in the Champions League and just three of their last nine. They are 17/10 (ladbrokes/william hill) for victory on the night and 3/8 (888sport/unibet) to qualify for the group stage.

These sides have met four times before in European competitions and Arsenal have won two of these games with the other two ending drawn. The Gunners emerged 5-2 victors when they visited here in October 2008 with Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Abou Diaby among those on the score sheet. Olivier Giroud grabbed a goal in the opening game to continue on from a fine run of pre-season form and he is 85/40 (BETVICTOR) to net anytime. Lukas Podolski has scored in two of the last four Champions League games for Arsenal and the German is 3/1 (SKYBET/BETVICTOR/ladbrokes) to score here. Theo Walcott who scored back in the last meeting between the pair is 5/2 (BETVICTOR) to grab a goal here. This looks a good price as his pace will be called upon on the counter attack and he has grabbed four in his last eight in all competitions,

Moussa Sow scored 19 goals last season for the Turkish side and he is 12/5 (SKYBET) as is new signing Emmanuel Emenike (SKYBET) while Dirk Kuyt is a 3/1 (GENERAL) shot.

Four other games are scheduled to take place that evening with the other recommend bets coming in the game between Basel and Ludogorets in Bulgaria. The Swiss side are an experienced European outift who registered draws at Tottenham and Sporting last season and can use their European experience in claiming victory at 5/4 (GENERAL). Sticking with this game and Fabian Schar has scored three times in his last six games for Basel and is expected to be on penalties and is worth an interest at 5/1 (william hill).

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Basel to beat Ludogorets, 5/4 (GENERAL)
SILVER: Theo Walcott to score anytime v Fenerbahce, 5/2 (GENERAL)
BRONZE: Fabian Schar to score anytime v Ludogorets, 5/1 (william hill)
