Chelsea will aim to keep pushing on at the top of the Premier League following their success in picking up the first domestic cup of the season at the weekend. Jose Mourinho`s men secured the League Cup with a 2-0 win over London rivals Spurs at Wembley. As a result, the Blues have a game in hand over Manchester City in second. A victory away at West Ham tomorrow would, presumably, see them maintain their five point lead before taking advantage of this extra match on Friday.

A defeat at the hands of West Ham and City taking all three points from bottom club Leicester would see the gap at the top reduced to two points with Chelsea having to re-establish their five point supremacy in their upcoming spare clash.

West Ham were looking to make a surprise bid for the Europa League spot at the start of the season though have tailed off somewhat recently and currently find themselves in ninth. A win could potentially see the Iron supersede Swansea in eighth and close the gap on Tottenham to two points. A loss on the other hand, could see them pushed down to 10th at the benefit of Stoke.

The side have only met once this season, in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day. It was a game Chelsea managed to secure by two goals to nil, one goal being scored in either half. John Terry was the first to penetrate the Iron`s defence just past the half hour mark before Diego Costa doubled up for the Blues on the 62nd minute.

Betvictor have 15/2 on Mourinho`s men seeing off Sam Allardyce`s side by the same scoreline tomorrow whilst another Chelsea win to nil is available at 15/8 with Skybet. Terry can be backed at 25/1 at a number of bookmakers to break the deadlock whilst Diego Costa is best priced at 4/1 (betfair, Coral, paddy Power) to score the last goal.

Indeed it is the table toppers and League Cup champions who are the favourites to take all three points from the match tomorrow evening. The Blues can be found at 13/20 at most turf accountants whilst an upset is available at 21/4 with both bet365 and Betvictor. Betbright have the best price on a draw at 33/10.

West Ham have picked up just five Premier League points in their last five games at the Boleyn Ground but have hit the back of the net a total of seven times in this period. Indeed, the last time United had failed to score at home in the top tier of English football was back in November in a goalless draw with Aston Villa.

In this run of eight home games subsequent to the Villa draw, the club`s top scorer has been Andy Carroll with four goals from the 13 scored. Unfortunately the England international is out with a long term injury and so the focus will fall on two-time scorers Stewart Downing and Diafra Sakho. Downing closed the scoring against both Hull (3-0) and Leicester (2-0) and is a 22/1 (betfair, paddy Power) chance to hit the last goal of the match. Sakho is available at 3/1 (Betfair, betfred, Bwin, Totesport) to add to his tally at any time.

Chelsea have scored two or more goals in four of their last five matches away from Stamford Bridge and find themselves at 4/6 with betfair to score twice or more again tomorrow evening.

Mourinho`s side have picked up 10 points from a maximum of 15 in this period, keeping two clean sheets. Betvictor and betway`s 17/20 says both teams will score.
