Here is our guide to the best of the bets available from the Premier League antepost management markets.

Alan Pardew is the 11/4 (paddy Power/william hill/betway) favourite to be the first manager to leave his club. The Newcastle boss fits the trends for this market, he is in charge of an established Premier League club in the bottom half of the table who was not a pre-season appointment. His position has also been undermined this summer with the appointment of Joe Kinnear as Director of Football and the struggles the Magpies have had in the transfer market. He is a worthy favourite though as he has a long term contract and the price is short he is not one to side with.

The man most likely to go in my opinion is Martin Jol who is an 8/1 (SKYBET/ladbrokes/betway) chance. The Fulham manager is in the last year of his contract, is in charge of a side that are stagnant at best and has a new owner in place who did not appoint him. The new American in charge at Craven Cottage is likely to want his own man in place and a slow start might give him the chance to move Jol out.

Michael Laudrup is next in the betting at 10/1 (BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES) which is a poor price as the Swansea man seems to have repaired any ill feeling with the Chairman and has a European adventure ahead of him. He has built an exciting side and is unlikely to walk our and certainly is unlikely to be sacked.

Paulo di Canio is also a 10/1 (GENERAL) chance which looks more interesting as anything could happen with the Italian in charge. Chris Hughton is a 16/1 (GENERAL) chance and the Canaries have a patient board though the fans were getting a little impatient towards the end of the season with the style of football and results. If things start slow after a big spend in the summer Hughton could be at risk. At bigger prices Southampton manager Mauro Pochettino might be vulnerable at 28/1 (STAN JAMES) while new Stoke boss Mark Hughes will be under pressure from the off to convince the Stoke fans that he is the right man and he is 33/1 (STAN JAMES/william hill) to be the first manager to leave.

The second selection is Malky McKay who although is a promoted manager has an impatient chairman behind him who is not afraid to make controversial decisions such as changing the colour of the strip from blue to red. The Bluebirds have a tough start to the season and if the results do not follow then it would not be a shock to see McKay handed his marching orders. Back the Cardiff manager to be first to leave at 33/1 (william hill/BETWAY).

New boys Hull and Crystal Palace are unlikely to sack their managers as they are just happy to be in the Premier League so Steve Bruce at 33/1 (GENERAL) and Ian Holloway at 33/1 (betway) offer no appeal.

BETVICTOR are the only firm offering odds on the manager of the month award for August with Manuel Pellegrini the 3/1 favourite ahead of Roberto Martinez at 6/1. Chris Hughton is a 10/1 chance as is Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Sam Allardyce. The winner tends to be someone who starts the season with their side top of the table as such it would be no shock to see Pellegrini win it considering the kind start that Man City have.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Manuel Pelegrini to win August manager of the month, 3/1 (BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Martin Jol to be first manager to leave, 8/1 (SKYBET/ladbrokes/BETWAY)
BRONZE: Malky McKay first manager to leave, 33/1 (william hill/BETWAY)
