Queens Park Rangers are looking for a new manager following yesterday`s resignation of Harry Redknapp.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man took over at Loftus Road back in the 2012-13 season, replacing Mark Hughes under whom the club had accumulated four points from their first 12 games. Despite his best efforts, Redknapp couldn`t help save the London side from relegation to the Championship, the R`s fate sealed with three matches still to play.

Both the 67-year-old and his employers remained loyal to each other, that loyalty paying off with Redknapp leading the club to a place in the Championship play-offs last season. The club were promoted after just one campaign in the second tier of English football, beating Wigan Athletic 2-1 over two legs and Derby County 1-0 in the final.

QPR now sit in 19th position in the Premier League, the club on 19 points having not picked up a point away from home all season. Despite this, the Hoops are just one point from safety and three from the relative comfort of 15th position.

Redknapp maintains that his decision to leave his role at the club was purely a non-footballing one. The seven-time manager cites a forth-coming knee operation as the reason for his departure and not any on- or off-field ill feeling.

The boots of Harry Redknapp, a one-time candidate for the England manager job, will be big ones to fill but who is currently leading the betting to be his replacement?

According to the bookmakers there is only one name in the frame at the minute, Tim Sherwood being the 1/4 odds-on favourite with paddy Power.

As a player, Sherwood was a Premier League winner, captain of the Blackburn Rovers side that picked up the trophy back in the 1994-95 season. His playing career span 18 years, also winning the old first division with Portsmouth back in 2002-03 and earning himself a place in the 1995 Team of the Year.

The no-nonsense midfielder also accumulated three England caps before his retirement from playing the beautiful game in 2005.

Since leaving the pitch, the Hertfordshire born star has worked as a television pundit and was coach at Tottenham Hotspur, working under Redknapp, before taking over the reins following the ill-fated reign of Andre Villas-Boas. This has been Sherwood`s only managerial experience.

Sherwood was in charge of the club for 28 matches, winning 14 games, drawing four and losing 10, giving him a 50% win ratio. He was sacked at the end of the 2013-14 season and replaced with current Whites manager Mauricio Pochettino.

It is thought that the 45-year-old`s chance of getting the Rangers` manager`s job has been strengthened by the appointment of his close friend and former team-mate Les Ferdinand as the club`s Director of Football. Ferdinand is himself a 12/1 shot (bet365) to move into the hot-seat after a brief spell upstairs. The current second favourite for the role, however, is Kevin Bond, QPR`s assistant boss and long time associate of Redknapp`s. He is available at 6/1 with paddy Power and Skybet.

Despite having a wealth of experience as a number two, Bond`s actual managerial experience is limited. The 57-year-old had a brief spell in charge of non-league side Stafford Rangers from 1997 to 1998 before taking control of Bournemouth for less than two years.

An ex-journeyman central defender with a CV spanning 22 years and eight clubs, Bond became a successful coach upon retiring, working at Portsmouth, Southampton and Newcastle United.

Other names touted for the QPR top job include former England manager Glenn Hoddle who`s 28/1 with bet365 and Bwin, recently sacked Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pierce, a 33/1 shout with Skybet, and current Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe who is 66/1 with a number of bookmakers.
