Premier League

West Bromwich Albion could feasibly be dragged into the relegation dogfight should they lose at Queens Park Rangers this afternoon. With 33 points, the Baggies currently occupy 14th position in the league but a defeat at home and weekend wins for those clubs beneath them could see Albion just five points to the good of the bottom three. Contrarily, a home victory over Rangers could see Tony Pulis` side up to as high as 12th usurping both Newcastle and Everton and level on points with Crystal Palace.

Queens Park Rangers are one of the clubs stuck in the relegation places, second from the bottom of the league and four points off safety. A win for Chris Ramsey`s men could see the club move above Burnley, should the Clarets fail to win on Sunday, whilst also potentially reducing the gap on 17th placed Sunderland to one point. A defeat in the West Midlands could see them further struggle, potentially ending the weekend seven points from Premier League safety.

The two sides have met once previously this season, this being back in December in the reverse fixture at QPR`s Loftus Road. A result that will give the travelling fans something of a confidence boost ahead of today`s clash, the R`s ran out the winners at home scoring three goals to West Brom`s two. This match was played with both clubs still under the stewardship of their former managers, Harry Redknapp in charge of the home team and Alan Irvine the boss of the Baggies.

The visitors didn`t make it easy for their opponents, they leading 2-1 at half time thanks to goals within the first 20 minutes from Joleon Lescott and Silvestre Varela. Charlie Austin successfully converted a penalty to see the deficit reduced before the half time oranges.

Indeed it took the home outfit just three minutes after the restart to restore parity with Austin claiming his second with a well taken volley. The match remained level until the 86th minute when Austin completed his hat-trick for the Hoops.

Betvictor have a massive 70/1 on Rangers managing to secure another 3-2 victory over West Brom this afternoon. Whilst 10/3 (betfair, william hill) is the price on another penalty being awarded between the two sides, most bookmakers have 25/1 on Lescott grabbing the opening goal against the Baggies. Another Austin hat-trick is on offer at 150/1 at william hill.

These prices are so big because West Brom are the 5/6 (boylesports) favourites to get their revenge on the London side at home this afternoon. The best price on an away win by any means is 9/2 and this is available at both betfair and William Hill. Finally, 11/4 (betfred, boylesports, Coral, Totesport) says that the two teams will be tied at the end of 90 minutes.

Under Pulis, West Brom have managed to pick up six points from their last five games. Whilst that is a mixed bit of form, their home results are superb, having sealed 12 points from the last 15 on offer at the Hawthorns. All four of these wins came without the home team conceding and the Baggies can be backed at 19/10 (Betvictor, boylesports, Totesport) to record another win to nil this afternoon.

Their opponents have not scooped even a point in their last six matches, their away form being equally as bad with just three points (a 2-0 win over Sunderland) in their last five games. What will give Rangers hope is the fact that they have scored in all of their last five games on their travels and they can be picked up at 13/20 (Betvictor, betway) to hit over 0.5 goals past the West Midlands club.
