There`s a whole lot of history between Daniela Hantuchova and Urszula Radwanska and the two meet tonight (22:30) in the second round of the Monterrey Open. The two women have met on on-court five times in WTA competitions and the Polish star holds the balance of power with three victories to two. Indeed, Hantuchova of Slovakia falls further behind her opponent when only those matches on hard are considered, Radwanska having recorded three wins to the Slovakian`s one.

The first time the two women met was back in 2009, on clay with the now 31-year-old world number 46 winning 6-3, 6-1. Hantuchova would double her head-to-head lead four years later with a second victory in Pattaya City, Thailand. She beat her opponent, who is seven years her junior, 6-3 in the opener before only dropping two sets in the second on her way to sealing the second round success.

Hantuchova would go on to see off Vania King, Hsieh Su-wei and, finally, Maria Kirilenko as she picked up this 2012 title. The Poprad-born star had previously swooped on the gong in the previous year before winning the tournament title once again this year. She would defeat Ajla Tomljanovic in the final despite losing the first set 6-3, seeing out the second 6-3 and the closing set 6-4.

Radwanska would seal her first victory over Hantuchova in the first round of the South California Open in Carlsbad later in 2012. In what was a closely fought contested the then 22-year-old claimed a 6-4 win in the first before needing a seventh game to see off the seven-time WTA title winner in the second (7-5). Radwanska would eventually be knocked out at the quarter-final stage by eventual champion Dominika Cibulkova.

Two victories via tie-breaks saw the 5`10" Pole level up the head-to-head record in the Stanford Classic of 2013. This would be the last win of the tournament for Radwanska, the seventh seed, as she once again exited at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Cibulkova, who would once again claim the title.

Three sets were need to separate the two women for the first time in 2015, the pair meeting in Auckland. Radwanska picked up the second stage victory despite only taking one game in the opening set. She would claim the second 6-3 before only dropping a game in the concluding set of the match. The qualifier, who had previously seen off Francesca Schiavone in the opening round of matches, again only managed to make it to the quarter-final stage, losing out to America`s Lauren Davis in three sets.

Despite her dominance in these previous outings, Radwanska is the underdog in this encounter, available for backing at 11/10 at both bet365 and paddy Power. Contrarily, Hantuchova, 95 places better off than her opponent in the world rankings, is 5/6. This best price can be grabbed at william hill.

Betway are offering odds of 7/5 on the match lasting three sets for the second consecutive time between the two players this year. Seven-to-two (32red, 888sport, Bwin, unibet) says that Hantuchova will get the better of her rival by two sets to one whilst 15/4 (betway, Bwin) says that Radwanska will rule supreme by two sets to one once again.

Hantuchova`s first win back in 2009 was sealed by an eight game margin of victory, whilst her second in Thailand was captured by a margin of seven games. paddy Power`s 8/13 is the price on either player recording a victory by a margin of five to nine games.

Radwanska beat Hantuchova by four games in Carlsbad whilst seeing her off by a mere to in Stanford. The margin of victory was three games in Auckland. Evens with the same bookmaker says one of the two players will have a one to four game margin of victory.
