Before we look at the Football League let us take a quick moment to showcase some value from the non-league and it comes from the Conference Premier. I am shocked to see you can get 13/10 (BETVICTOR) on Gateshead in the draw no bet market against Luton. The North Eastern side are on a great run of form with seven wins from their last eight in all competitions. Luton are a big name at this level and are playing well themselves but they have won just three of their eight away games this season and face another in-form team.
It is seven wins from the last seven league games for Burnley and the Clarets are 13/10 (GENERAL) to make eight from eight away at Millwall this weekend. The Lions have not won any of their last four though they have drawn with QPR and Reading and the draw is available at 5/2 (bet365) while a Millwall victory is 5/2 (bet365).
Second place Leicester are away to Watford in the Saturday lunchtime game and you can read more about that match in our special preview of the Saturday live games.
QPR are third and welcome an in-form Derby to Loftus Road on Saturday. The Hoops have stuttered in their last three games taking just two points. At home they remain tough opponents winning five and drawing one of their six and they will tempt some at evens (bet365/BETVICTOR/william hill). The East Midlands side are in good form with eight points from their last four and can be backed at 10/3 (TOTESPORT/betfred/ladbrokes) while the draw is 13/5 (bet365/BETVICTOR).
The best value bet in this divison comes in the anytime scorer market where Marc Pugh is a generous 13/2 (betfred) to net for Bouremouth against Bolton. The Cherries midfielder has already scored four times this season including in each of his last two. Pugh has eight shots on target from his last three games and will fancy his chances against a Bolton side that is conceding two goals away from home this season.
In League One a cracking game is set to take place as third placed Peterborough play host to league leading Leyton Orient. Posh are the 23/20 (BETVICTOR) favourites for the game as they look to continue a run of home form that has seen them win of five of seven in the league this season. Orient have an identical away record with five wins and a draw from seven and are available at 11/4 (GENERAL) while the draw is a 13/5 (BET365) chance.
The best bet is in taking Colchester to get something from their visit to Rotherham. Neither side are in great form though the price on the home side is much too short. The Millers have picked up just one win from their last seven games and have taken just one point (a draw with Tranmere) from their last three at home. Colchester are tending to do their best work at home though they have been solid away from home drawing four and winning one of their seven games. The U’s should not be as big as 5/4 (BET365) on the Asian Handicap market with a 0.5 start which is essentially a double chance on the Colchester win and the draw.
League Two looks difficult this week with Oxford and Rochdale short priced for home wins, while six of the top ten are facing each other. As many other better bets exist this weekend I shall recommend no bet on this division this weekend.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Gateshead to beat Luton, draw no bet, 13/10 (GENERAL)
SILVER: Colchester +-0.5 on the Asian Handicap v Rotherham, 5/4 (BET365)
BRONZE: Marc Pugh to score anytime v Bolton, 13/2 (betfred)
