In Group E Chelsea and Schalke are tied at the top with six points and these two sides do battle on Wednesday night with the Blues looking to bounce back from a weekend defeat to Newcastle that put an end to a run of nine games undefeated in all competitions. Chelsea will be confident they can bounce back against a side they beat 3-0 away from home in gameweek three. The Blues are available at 2/5 (GENERAL) while the draw is a 17/4 (bet365) chance and Schalke are 17/2 (bet365/STAN JAMES).
The bet could be in the anytime scorer market where Adam Szalai is 4/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred) the Hungarian frontman is expected to lead the line in the absence of Klaas Jan Huntelaar. He is not a prolific scorer but he did net at the weekend and despite losing 3-0 in the reverse fixture Dchalke did create some good scoring chances.
The other game in the group is between Basel and Steaua Bucharest which ended 1-1 last time out in Romania thanks to an 88th minute equaliser from Bucharest. The Swiss side are the 8/13 (FAVOURITES) and it is hard to see past a Basel victory on their own ground.
Group F is living up to pre-tournament expectations and it is tight with three sides (Arsenal, Drotmund, Napoli) tied on six points. The Gunners will look to bounce back from defeat to Dortmund last time out when they travel to Germany. I like the look of the North London side to get something from this game as they played well in the first leg and were a little unlucky not to get something from the game. Playing away from home will not worry the Gunners as they have not lost a game outside London since December 2012 when they lost to Olympiakos. Take the 13/10 (888 SPORT/unibet) on the draw/away victory in the double chance market which represents great value on such an open looking game.
Also in this group Napoli take on Marseille and the Italian side will be looking to get the three poiunt against their French opponents and are 2/5 (GENERAL) to do so.
Atletico Madrid are coasting through Group G and should have no problems seeing off Austria Vienna at 1/8 (GENERAL) while Diego Costa is 4/7 (888 SPORT/CORAL/unibet) to score at anytime.
The other game in the group is between Zenit and Porto in Russia and this is at the earlier kick-off time of 17:00. After losing at home to Zenit last time out Porto know they need to win in Russia and they are 2/1 (GENERAL) to do so while the Zenit win is 31/20 (BETVICTOR).
Celtic got their qualifying campaign back on track with a victory over Ajax last time out and if the Scottish side can beat the Dutch team once more then they will be in pole position to qualify if Milan fail to beat Barcelona.
It is 19/5 (BETVICTOR) a Celtic victory while the draw is available at 14/5 (GENERAL) and the home victory is 5/6 (paddy Power). People are expecting a goal fest when Barcelona take on Milan but it might be worth swimming against the tide here. Just three of the last eight Barca games have gone over 2.5 goals and of those two of these finished with three goals. The under 2.5 goals is 37/20 with sportingbet and this looks worth a little interest.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Arsenal/draw double chance v Dortmund, 13/10 (888 SPORT/unibet)
SILVER: Adam Szalai to score anytime v Chelsea, 4/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred)
BRONZE: Under 2.5 goals Barcelona and Milan, 37/20 (sportingbet)
