Sunderland will be able to make further progress up the Premier League table with a win away at Swansea tomorrow. The Tyneside club currently sit in 14th position in the top tier of English football, four points off the relegation zone with 23 points. The team could move one place with a victory and put more points between themselves and the dreaded drop zone.

Swansea, on the other hand, are looking to sustain their top half position. Gary Monk`s men are ninth in the league and though a win wouldn`t see them progress in terms of position, it would help their minus three goal difference and put pressure on tenth placed Stoke City who play Newcastle on Sunday.

The last time the two sides met the match ended a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light, the only moment of tension being the red card issued to Spanish Swansea defender Angel Rangel.

Despite this previous deadlock, it is the Welsh side who are the favourites to scoop the victory tomorrow, Coral and ladbrokes both offering 19/20 on a win for the Whites. Gus Poyet`s Sunderland are available for backing at 19/5 with betfair whilst a second successive draw between the two teams can be picked up at 13/5 with both betfred and Totesport. Indeed, a number of bookmakers (betfred, betway, Coral, william hill) are presenting a price of 15/2 on another goalless tie.

The Swans kept a clean sheet last time out when they won away at Southampton on the first day of February, Jonjo Shelvey getting the only goal less than ten minutes from time. The Whites will, however, have to improve their recent defensive record at home, having kept only two clean sheets in their last five games at the Liberty Stadium and conceding five goals without reply in their last match at home against league leaders Chelsea.

Monk`s men`s last two clean sheets at home came against strugglers Queens Park Rangers in a 2-0 win and in a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa. Ki Sung-yueng opened the scoring against the London side back in December before Wayne Routledge doubled his team`s advantage. Gylfi Sigurdsson scored the only goal against the West Midlands side.

The club have racked up six league wins to nil since the beginning of the season and can be backed at 19/10 with Betvictor, boylesports and Totesport win and keep a clean sheet against Sunderland.

Swansea also recorded a 1-1 draw against West Ham United thanks to a Mark noble own-goal following their 2-1 home defeat against Tottenham. Now Manchester City star striker Wilfried Bony grabbed the Swans only goal of this tie.

Having not scored two goals in a league match since their triumph over QPR back at the beginning of December, the Swans are 7/10 with boylesports to score under 1.5 goals tomorrow.

Sunderland, conversely, have picked up five points from their last five Premier League clashes as well as progressing through to the FA Cup fifth round with a comprehensive 3-1 victory away at Championship side Fulham.

Prior to this success, however, the Black Cats recorded back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Spurs, those games finishing 3-2 and 2-1 respectively. Jack Rodwell and Adam Johnson struck past City whilst Sebastian Larsson scored his club`s only goal against Tottenham.

These matches followed a run of five league games unbeaten on the road, goalless draws against Leicester, Liverpool and Aston Villa being supplemented with a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-0 victory over Newcastle.

Sunderland`s positive defensive record away from home means they might be value at 13/2 (Betvictor, Totesport) to win whilst keeping a clean sheet.
