Queens Park Rangers will host Southampton tomorrow in their first match without Harry Redknapp at the helm. The one-time contender for the England manager`s job resigned after finding out that he must undergo surgery on his knee. Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood is the current short priced favourite for the role.

The club could move to as high as 16th with a victory tomorrow, escaping the relegation zone for the first time since 1st January. Southampton will, however, be formidable opposition the club currently occupying the final Champions League position following an impressive run of results. The Hampshire side could vacate this fourth place should they fail to win on Saturday whilst a victory could see them move to third.

The last time the two teams met was at St Mary`s back in September, the Saints running out the 2-1 winners at home.

The first half ended goalless between the two sides before Ryan Bertrand fired his team in front. Charlie Austin levelled up for QPR before Saints` top scorer Pelle scored the winning goal with 20 minutes still to play.

As a result of their high league position and September win over the Hoops, Ronald Koeman`s men are best priced 9/10 with paddy Power to put QPR to the sword at Loftus road. A correct score prediction of 2-1 to the Saints will see returns at a price of 17/2 with bet365.

Most bookmakers are currently offering 13/5 on the match ending a draw whilst a win for managerless QPR is 19/5 with Betvictor.

Despite having not picked up a solitary point away from home, the London side`s record at Loftus Road is solid. In their last five home league games, QPR have racked up a total of eight points. Their only defeat in this time came last time out when falling 2-0 at home to Manchester United.

Prior to this loss, Rangers went on a four game unbeaten run, serving up back-to-back wins over Burnley (2-0) and West Brom (3-2) before tying against Crystal Palace (0-0) and Swansea City (1-1).

With a goal against Burnley and a hat-trick against West Brom, Charlie Austin is the club`s leading scorer from these matches. The former Burnley man can be backed at 5/2 with Bwin to grab a goal at any time. Otherwise, he is 13/2 (Betvictor, boylesports, Coral) to hit the first goal and 16/1 with paddy Power to grab two or more goals once again. QPR have kept only four clean sheets at home this season but two of these came in their last five at home. This upturn in defensive form means that it could be worth backing them to keep a clean sheet at 18/5 (Coral). A Rangers victory without conceding can be picked up at 7/1 with Coral and Totesport.

The Saints, on the other hand, have won away from home five times in the Premier League this campaign. They are currently on a three game unbeaten run at home in all competitions having seen off Manchester United and Newcastle in the league before putting Championship side Ipswich to the sword in the FA Cup.

Substitute Dusan Tadic put the only goal of the match past David De Gea in the 69th minute to earn his side three points away at Old Trafford before their cup triumph was recorded thanks to a solitary goal from Shane Long in the two sides` replay at Portman Road. Finally, Eljero Elia scored in both halves as the Saints took down Newcastle 2-1.

There has been a one goal margin in all of Southampton`s last five games, home and away in all competitions. Thirteen-to-ten with betway says that the two clubs will be separated by a single goal tomorrow.
