QPR V LEEDS Saturday 1st March, 12:15, SKY SPORTS
The live game in the Championship on Saturday is between QPR and Leeds from Loftus Road with the London side the 20/23 (boylesports) favourites. The price on the home side looks a little short too me as QPR are not in the best of form at the moment with three straight defeats that has seen them lose ground on the top two. The Yorkshire club meanwhile are in and out like they have been all season and sit in 11th place. The last six games has seen them give a perfect example of this with two wins, two draws and two defeats. If you fancy Leeds then you can back them at 19/5 (BETVICTOR) though they have won just one of their last six on their travels. The draw meanwhile is available at 13/5 with bet365 and BETVICTOR.
The best bet is to take the first goal to come after the 27th minute as these two sides are very slow starters both of whom having scored a joint league low of three goals each in the opening 15 minutes of the season.
RECOMMENDATION: First goal over 27th minute, evs (GENERAL)
SOUTHAMPTON V LIVERPOOL Saturday 1st March, 17:30, SKY SPORTS 1
The most one-sided match in Premier League training must be the battle between Liverpool attack and Liverpool defence, the former are magnificent and have scored more goals than anyone in the top flight this season, the latter are error prone and have shipped more goals than West Ham and Hull and just one more than Crystal Palace. This weekend the strikers will have to try score more than the defenders as they travel to Southampton.
The Saints are the 11/4 (GENERAL) outsiders for the game though they have won four of their five last against the Merseysiders at St Mary’s and each of the last three. In addition Southampton are the only side to have won at Anfield in the Premier League this season. That being said you have to wonder what Southampton are playing for now as they are too far removed from Europe and out of all the cup competitions. Liverpool are 11/10 (GENERAL) for victory and this is likely to be popular when you consider how they have been playing though a word of caution away from home they have won just five games in the Premier League all season.
The draw has been the result in the last two Southampton home games and for it to end all square once more then you can get 11/4 (bet365/BETVICTOR). I think Liverpool will win but I am unwilling to trust them away from home as they have let me down a few too many times so instead I will look at one of the other markets. Daniel Sturridge has scored in eight consecutive Premier League games so I can not put anyone off backing him at 7/5 (BETVICTOR) at anytime while Luis Suarez is rated a 13/10 (SPREADEX) shot as the Uruguayan looks to put a recent barren spell behind him. For the Saints Adam Lallana has four in his last seven home games and is 4/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred/william hill) to score anytime while Rickie Lambert who has three in his last seven home games is a 5/2 (GENERAL) chance.
Goals are likely to be the order of the day with so much attacking talent on display and over 3.5 goals is the way to play this as this would have paid out in six of the last seven for Liverpool and four of last seven for Saints.
RECOMMENDATION: Over 3.5 goals between Saints & Liverpool, 13/8 (STAN JAMES)
