Premier League

Winless Burnley will host out-of-form Hull City tomorrow (Saturday 8th November) knowing that a further defeat could see them further stranded at the foot of the Premier League table.

The North-West side have conceded nine goals in their last three games and sit in 20th position on a meagre four points. Their last successful encounter came away at Leicester City over month ago with goals from Michael Kightly and Ross Wallace proving enough to steal a point against their fellow top-tier newcomers.

Last time out, a pleasing first-half against Arsenal crumbled away as the Clarets conceded three second-half goals. The North London side`s top scorer Alexis Sanchez added to his tally with a brace whilst right-back Calum Chambers secured his first senior goal of his career.

Failing to hit a goal past the Gunners will have disappointed manager Sean Dyche whose team had scored in all three of their previous matches after going over 450 minutes without hitting the back of the net.

The twin goals against Leicester were followed up by George Boyd`s converted chance in a 3-1 defeat against a confident West Ham United, as Danny Ings returned from injury to equalise against Everton before the Merseyside club added another two to replicate Burnley`s previous week`s result.

Burnley can be backed at 3/1 with william hill to re-find their shooting boots and score at least once whilst 11/4 with Spreadex says Hull can keep a clean sheet against the Turf Moor outfit.

Despite failing to snatch a win in any of their last three games, Hull have managed to steal important results away at the homes of some of the league`s biggest sides. Only a late Danny Welbeck goal could help Arsenal secure a point against Steve Bruce`s men as Mohamed Diame and Abel Hernandez saw the Tigers go a goal to the good after a Sanchez strike.

Hull defended well against Liverpool to take a point back to the North-East. Not even Merseyside stars such as Raheem Sterling, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert could finish past Bruce`s third-choice goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic. It was the Bosnian who was, however, at fault for the only goal scored in his team`s clash against second-placed Southampton. The 30-year-old former Lokomotiv Moscow man is expected to retain his place in the side as both Allan McGregor (shoulder) and Steven Harper (arm) continue to recover from injuries.

Despite their superior positioning and Premier League experience, Hull find themselves as the 21/10 (Betvictor) outsiders for Saturday`s match-up. First time 8/5 (Numerous) favourites, Burnley will be disappointed should they fail to pick up all three points against their mid-table opposition. Stan James are offering 12/5 on the match ending as a draw, with the pressure continuing to build on Clarets` boss Dyche.

Such confidence in Burnley may have something to do with the absence of key faces for the away side. Thirty-year-old central defender Alex Bruce is sidelined for a month after he sustained a hamstring injury performing one of the last kicks of a training session. The former Ipswich Town man is also set to be out for Northern Ireland`s Euro 2016 qualifier against Romania.

Also receiving treatment is experienced striker Nikica Jelavic. The Croatian, who has scored four goals in seven appearances for the club this season, is still hampered by a knee injury. He was last seen hitting an important 89th minute winner against Crystal Palace back at the beginning of October. Hot-shot Uruguayan summer signing Abel Hernandez will be available for selection, however, and is 13/2 (888sport, Betvictor, paddy Power) to score at any time.

Danny Ings is still the biggest threat to the Hull defence with his goal scoring partner Sam Vokes out until the turn of the year with a knee injury. The Southampton-born star is the 6/1 (Numerous) favourite to break the deadlock whilst goalless Lukas Jutkiewicz is 45/17 (888sport) to score at any time.
