Gordon to show his flash against Bills

Gameweek five starts with the Thursday night game (01:25, SKY SPORTS) that sees Buffalo at Cleveland in a battle between two sides with a 2-2 record.

Bookmakers make the hometown Browns the 1/2 (GENERAL) favourites as they look to secure a third victory in the row. The Vikings were the victims in week three before a masterclass in defence kept out the Bengals in week four. The turnaround for the Browns has coinciced with a move to start quarterback Brian Hoyer. Victory here will mean Hoyer becomes the first Browns QB since the legendary Otto Graham (in 1946) to lead Cleveland to three victories in his first three starts.

Buffalo also have a young quarterback leading the line in EJ Manuel and he has lead his team to victories over Baltimore and Carolina with narrow defeats to the NY Jets and New England. If you think the Bills can win this one you can back them at 7/4 (TOTESPORT/betfred) while the point spread is four.

Those looking for an anytime touchdown scorer should look at Josh Gordon who is a 11/10 (ladbrokes/william hill) shot. While teammate Jordan Cameron has caught the headlines with five touchdowns already this season the return of Gordon has somewhat slipped under the radar. He has grabbed a touchdown in each of his last two games and will fancy his chances against the Buffalo defence.

RECOMMENDED: Josh Gordon anytime TD, 11/10 (ladbrokes/william hill)

The triple header of live NFL action Sunday (6th) serves up a tasty looking feast with the starter seeing Baltimore at Miami (18:00,SKY SPORTS), the mains Denver at Dallas (21:25, SKY SPORTS) and a tasty afters of Houston at San Francisco (01:30, CHANNEL 4). The Dolphins are 4/6 (boylesports/BETVICTOR/CORAL) to bounce back from defeat at New Orleans last week and emerge victorious against the Ravens. The Ravens to land a first away win of the season are available at 7/5 (william hill/BWIN).

The second game features Denver at Dallas (21:25, SKY SPORTS) and the Broncos are as short as 1/3 (SKYBET/WILLIAM HILL) for the victory against the 2-2 Cowboys. Denver have wracked up 176 points from four game already this season and you might want to look to side with them to get among the points once more on Sunday,

The 49ers are 5/13 (paddy Power) favourites to see off the Texans with the point spread of 7. Both sides have had slower starts then they would have liked and neither can afford a loss here though one side must do. The best bet though comes in one of the non-live games where you should take Jacksonville on the handicap against St Louis. At the time of writing the spread was +12.5 for the Jaguars which seems more than fair. Are Jacksonville the worst team in the NFL? Yes. Could a College team give them a real game? Yes. The Rams are not great though and I think the 12.5 points that BWIN are offering is achievable at 10/11 (BWIN).

RECOMMENDATION: Jacksonville to cover the point spread

The live fixture Monday night in the NFL (01:40, EUROSPORT) is the game between the Jets and the Falcons in Atlanta. Atlanta are 1-3 to start the season which is a worry for a side that had Super Bowl hopes though bookmakers are confident they will bounce back here. This could because the Falcons losses have come against good teams with defeats to the Patriots, the Dolphins and the Saints. Injuries have not been kind to Atlanta either and with the Saints looking hard to catch in the NFC South they will be hoping for a wildcard slot. They need to start with a win here and bookmakers think they will at 1/4 (BETVICTOR/BWIN. The Jets are 37/10 (888 SPORT/YOU WIN/unibet) are given a nine or ten point head start on the spread. It is hard to know what to make of the Jets the same side who were blown apart by the Titans also beat the Bills and should have defeated New England. The best bet in this game could come in taking the under total points market at 18/19 (888 SPORT/unibet) on the game having under 43 points. The Jets have the seventh ranked run defence while the Falcons have the 30th ranked rushing offense at home. Five of the last six meetings between the pair have gone under so that might be the way to play this.

RECOMMENDATION: Under 43 points Jets and Falcons, 18/19 (888 SPORT/unibet)
