With QPR not playing this week (due to opponents Wigan having Europa League commitments) then Burnley or Leicester can take advantage and go top of the table.
The Clarets are currently in second place and are away to Doncaster on Tuesday night. Donny won away at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend with on loan Man United frontman Federicho Macheda getting the goal his third in his last two games. The Yorkshire side could be tricky opponents for Burnley as they have already beaten Blackburn and held Forest at home this season. The Clarets are having a good season but odds of 11/8 (ladbrokes) look a little short.
The Foxes meanwhile will be expected to get all three points from their game at Yeovil. While the Glovers are struggling they did pick up a Bolton last time out and odds of 5/6 (BETVICTOR/ladbrokes/CORAL) do not appeal on a side with just three wins from their last 14 away games in the Championship.
The best bet in the Championship on Tuesday night comes from the Riverside and the game between Middlesbrough and Huddersfield. I like the visitors to get something from this match as they are in good form having lost just two of their nine games this season in the league and none of their last four. Opponents Middlesbrough have not won any of their last seven and have injuries to key players like Jonathan Woodgate and Marvin Emnes so Huddersfield offer some appeal at 3/1 (bet365).
I think it is important to keep the draw on side as the North East side have drawn five of their last seven while the Terriers have drawn three of their last four in the league. The best way to do this is on the Asian Handicap market with a 0.5 start which pays out on both the draw and a Huddersfield victory and is available at 6/7 (188 BET).
Martyn Woolford looks good value in the anytime scorer market to net against a Birmingham side that have conceded six times in their last three league games. The Millwall midfielder has grabbed three goals in all competitions this season including in the league against Leeds last time out. He was also unlucky not to score against Charlton in the previous league game and has hit the wood-work twice this season. All this suggests that odds of 7/1 (BETVICTOR) on him to score anytime look very generous. The Lions are in good form having won each of their last three games netting six goals in the process and Woolford is at the heart of this. Staying with anytime scorers and I think Luke Varney has to be worth an interest at 4/1 (betfred) to get among the goals. The Leeds frontman has only netted twice this season but the Yorkshire side can find success in the air as they top aerial duels won this season in the Championship while their opponents Bournemouth are bottom of this section. Varney is currently sixth in the aerial duels won category for players and he could have some success in this department against the Cherries defence.
Another anytime scorer who could get among the goals is Danny Guthrie who grabbed two at the weekend and is on free-kick duty for Reading. The Royals are the league leaders in goals from set-pieces this season in the Championship and odds of 13/2 (BETVICTOR/paddy Power) for him to net during this game look generous.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Huddersfield +0.5 in the Asian Handicap v Middlesbrough, 6/7 (188 BET)
SILVER: Martyn Woolford to score anytime v Birmingham, 7/1 (BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: Luke Varney to score anytime v Bournemouth, 4/1 (betfred)
