Jol and Hughton to feel further pressure

Premier League

Martin Jol is a man under huge pressure as boss of Fulham and this could be the game that spells the end of his time in charge of the Whites. It is hard to make a case for the London side to get anything from the game even at odds of 14/1 (TOTESPORT/BETVICTOR). Liverpool to see off Fulham is a 1/4 (GENERAL) which does not inspire a bet. Many will look to enhance the odds and Liverpool to win to nil at 11/10 (CORAL) could be popular though the Merseysiders have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven league games. A score/win double is another option with Suarez to score at anytime and Liverpool to win at 18/19 (BWIN) while the same firm are evens on the Liverpool win and Sturridge at anytime.

Fulham have kept a second half clean sheet in each of their last four away games while Liverpool have scored a second half goal in just one of their last seven Premier League home games. It might then be worth a small interest that the London side keep things tight at the back and they are 12/5 (ladbrokes) to keep a second half clean sheet.

Chris Hughton is another manager in trouble and if his Norwich side fail to win at West Ham then he could be sacked. The Canaries were abject in defeat to Man City 7-0 last time out which marked a run of five games without a win. Those who think the East Anglian side can earn their manager a reprive can back them at 8/5 (william hill).

West Ham are not in great form themselves with just one win from their last nine league games and they are also struggling for goals with four blanks from five away games in the Premier League this season. If you think the Hammers can get all three points you can back them to do so at 2/1 (TOTESPORT/BETVICTOR).

The draw is the best option though as the Hammers have drawn three of their last five away games in the league and Norwich have drawn seven of their last four at home, both these sides lack the invention to break the other down so take the 23/10 (GENERAL) on the tied game. I talked last weekend about how if you fancy a game to end drawn then it makes sense to cover your losses a little with a small saver bet in the winning margin market where either team to win by one goal is a 17/20 (betway) chance.

Two managers not in trouble are Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton and Steve Bruce at Hull both of whom have done a remarkable job at their clubs this season. These two sides sit comfortably away from the relegation battle and that is a credit to the men at the helm. The Saints are 4/7 (GENERAL) to win at home and they are difficult to oppose considering their are unbeaten in their last seven league games and have seen off Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Swansea at their own ground in recent weeks.

The best bet comes in the anytime scorer market and comes from one of the English contingent who did not make the squad list for international friendlies against Germany and Chile. Ricky Lambert, Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana all got calls up but not James Ward-Prowse. The 19-year-old has been excellent all season and will have a point to prove. He has already netted for the under 21s this season so take the odds of 20/1 (BETVICTOR) that he grabs first and 7/1 (GENERAL) that he scores at anytime during the game.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Norwich and West Ham to end in a draw, 23/10 (GENERAL) SAVER: Winning margin in Norwich and West Ham game one goal, 17/20 (betway)
SILVER: James Ward Prowse to score v Hull, first 20/1 (BETVICTOR), anytime 7/1 (GENERAL)
BRONZE: Fulham to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool, 2nd half, 12/5 ladbrokes
