Arsenal will host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 10th February at 19:45 aiming to bounce back from their surprise defeat in the North London Derby and put themselves back in contention for the Champions League qualification places.
City, on the other hand, are still rock bottom of the table after falling to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Crystal Palace at home at the weekend. The Foxes are four points from safety.
The last time the two teams met was back on the last day of August, Nigel Pearson`s men working hard to fight out a 1-1 draw at home. Both goals were scored in the first half, Arsenal breaking the deadlock on the 20th minute through Alexis Sanchez. Two minutes later, the home side levelled up, Leonardo Ulloa`s second goal of the season enough to see the spoils shared at the King Power Stadium.
Arsene Wenger`s Reds will be able to call upon previous Leicester scorer and the club`s top Premier League goal scorer Sanchez following his short term precautionary absence from the squad. The Chilean is the 7/2 favourite with most bookmakers to break the deadlock again tomorrow.
Indeed, it is his club who are the short price favourites for the match tomorrow evening. All of betfred, boylesports, Stan James, Totesport and william hill have priced the Gunners up at 3/10 to see off Leicester with a draw being available at 5/1 with another handful of bookmakers. Eleven-to-one with bet365 and betway says the clash will end 1-1 for the second meeting in succession.
An unlikely away victory can also be found at 11/1. This price is with bet365, Betvictor and boylesports.
There is such a massive price on an away triumph due to the fact that Arsenal have won all of their last seven games at home in all competitions. What`s more the Gunners have kept three consecutive clean sheets and have conceded just two goals in all of these games. Conversely, the North London club have scored 19 goals in these seven matches. This is the equivalent of just under three a game.
Betvictor`s 23/10 says that the home side can collect their fourth straight win to nil at home tomorrow night whilst the price on a goalless draw is 18/1 with Coral. Twenty-three-to-ten (boylesports, Coral, william hill) is also the price on the Gunners scoring over 2.5 against Leicester.
Sanchez contributed six of the 19 goals in these most recent home encounters. The second highest goalscorers of this period are Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla who are evens (betfred, Totesport) and 3/1 (also betfred, Totesport) respectively to hit the back of the net at any time tomorrow.
The bottom club have picked up only four points on the road in their last five games though did manage to overturn Tottenham in the FA Cup at White Hart Lane. Ulloa and Jeffrey Schlupp were on target in that 2-1 victory.
In the league, the Foxes managed to see off Hull at the KC Stadium in a 1-0 victory thanks to a Ryan Mahrez goal before drawing 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield. David Nugent and Schlupp scored the goals that helped the Midlands club come from 2-0 down. A 1-0 triumph away at Stoke back in September has been the only other time the Premier League new boys collected any amount of points away from home this season. Ulloa was also on target on this occasion and the nine-time scorer could be a good shout at 9/2 (betfred, Totesport) in the anytime goalscorer market.
Pearson`s men are evens with Spreadex to score under 0.5 goals.
