Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from an unlikely weekend defeat at the hands of Athletic Club with a Champions League second leg victory over Schalke tomorrow. Carlo Ancelotti`s side have now fallen from the top of La Liga following that loss against the mid-table club, a point off the pace of Barcelona. A win at home to the German hopefuls will be their eighth successive victory in the Champions League this season.

A win at home to Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last weekend was Schalke`s first victory in five matches in all competitions. Roberto Di Matteo`s club now lie in fifth position but are only a win away from regaining third whilst first and second place now look to be long gone with Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg the only two teams still in the running for the top honours. The club scraped through to this stage of the Champions League by the skin of their teeth, having picked up only two wins in their campaign. They will be looking to avoid being knocked out by the reigning champions for the second time in straight seasons, losing out to Real by an aggregate score of 9-2 last time.

Schalke failed to hit the back of the net in their home encounter in the first leg of this competition, eventually losing out by two goals to nil. Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 26th minute in what was the only goal of the first 45. The match remained at 1-0 until just shy of the final 10 minutes when Marcelo found the back of the net to double his team`s advantage going into the second leg. william hill have the best price on the Whites winning 2-0 again tomorrow, this can be backed at odds of 13/2 at that establishment. betfred have 4/7 on Ronaldo scoring at any time during the match-up once again.

Last year`s winning finalists have scored 18 goals in this competition this season and have conceded just two.
