Leeds continue good form by getting something at City Ground

It is Leicester who are the team at the top of the table in the Championship as the Foxes having taken seven points from their last three games against some strong sides in QPR, Burnley and Reading. The East Midlands side are 4/5 (CORAL) to see off Bolton on Saturday though the Trotters have lost just one of the last 12 meetings between the pair.

Giuseppe Sannino is the man in charge of Watford these days following the departure of Gianfranco Zola who fel the had took the Hornets as far as he could. The Italian oversaw an excellent 4-0 win over Millwall on Boxing Day and they once more welcome visitors from the Capital, this time in the shape of QPR. The R’s were awful in a 2-0 televised loss to Forest and as such this looks a game to avoid from a betting point of view.

It is Derby who are the form side in the division with a remarkable run of eight games unbeaten, though a draw at Huddersfield last time put an end to a run of seven victories. The Rams should see off Barnsley and will be popular at evens (SKYBET/boylesports).

The best bet in the division though comes from the game at the City Ground where I think Leeds look value to get something from their match with Nottingham Forest. The Yorkshire side are now unbeaten in their last five games and with a 0.5 start paying out on a Leeds win or the draw this looks the way to play at odds of 19/20 (bet365/BETVICTOR). Bookmakers have over-reacted to the result of the Forest win over QPR as before this they had failed to win any of their last five home games.

No doubt about the game of the day in League One and that is the one at Molineux where the two table toppers Wolves and Leyton Orient will do battle. Bookmakers make the Midlands side the evens (BETVICTOR/ladbrokes/william hill) favourite for the game while the draw is 5/2 (GENERAL) and the London team are 31/10 (BETVICTOR).

If these two sides do battle out the draw then Brentford can take advantage and evens (GENERAL) on a Bees side with ten wins from their last 11 league games (the other ended drawn) looks decent value against a MK Dons side with six defeats from their last eight away. Notts County let us down on Boxing Day when they went down 2-1 to Port Vale yet by all accounts they played well and at least one of the two penalties awarded against them was a little harsh. They can be taken at 9/5 (BETVICTOR) in the draw no bet market and this looks the way to play it against a Crawley side who have just two wins from their last 13 games and have lost three of their last six in front of their own fans.

It is Chesterfield who are setting the pace in League Two thanks to a run of just one defeat from their last ten games in the league. The Spireites are as short as 7/10 (BETVICTOR/william hill) for victory and this might be a popular bet for people in their accumulators. A word of caution though the opposition Dagenham and Redbridge are no mugs and although they are on a run of three straight defeats they do have in Rhys Murphy and Zavon Hines game changing players so give this game a miss.

The best bet in this league though comes in the game between AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth where Reuben Reid catches the eye at 12/5 (bet365/paddy Power) to net at anytime. The Pilgrims player has eight in his last eight and three in his last two and is up against a team who have kept a clean sheet in just two of their last nine home games.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Leeds/Draw double chance v N.Forest, 19/20 (bet365/BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Notts County/Draw double chance v Crawley, 9/5 (BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: Reuben Reid score anytime v AFC Wimbledon, 12/5 (bet365/paddy Power)
