Manchester United will look to further cement their position in the Champions League places tomorrow as they take on Burnley at Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal`s side currently sit in fourth place in the top tier of English football and are just one point behind third placed Southampton and five behind second placed local rivals Manchester City.

Any slip ups from the Reds, however, will be pounced upon by either Tottenham or Arsenal, the North London clubs one and two points behind United respectively.

Burnley, conversely, are hovering just one place to the good of the Premier League relegation zone, the 17th placed side also with an inferior goal difference to Hull who occupy the final place in the drop zone. Should results go against them, the Clarets would fall to 19th and would be one point worse off than their safe rivals.

A unlikely win for Burnley, on the other hand, could see them rise to as high as 15th overtaking such clubs as West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.

The last time the two clubs met back at the end of August, the game ended in a goalless draw. Sean Dyche`s men held off the Red Devils at Turf Moor in what was to be their second match in a seven game streak without a goal. Despite this, United`s superior league position means that they are the 3/10 favourites to collect all three points from this Wednesday (19:45) fixture. This price can be found with most bookmakers. Again, 5/1 is the most common, and best price, on the two sides sharing the spoils once again at the end of the 90 minutes, whilst another goalless draw has been priced up at 16/1 by bet365, betfred and Coral.

An away win for Burnley is a massive 12/1 with Betvictor due to the Clarets having been unable to pick up a win in their last six games in all competitions away from home. There have been positives from these performances though, scoring in four of these six matches and earning themselves draws against better sides in Manchester City (2-2) and Newcastle United (3-3).

Dyche`s men have scored eight goals in these most recent away games with their top scorers from this period being Ashley Barnes and George Boyd. The former is 6/1 with paddy Power to score any time tomorrow evening whilst Boyd is a 17/2 shout with both bet365 and paddy Power.

Having failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 10 clashes away from Turf Moor, Manchester United are 1/14 with ladbrokes to score over 0.5 against Burnley tomorrow.

Such confidence in the Reds is mainly due to a five match unbeaten run that has seen them accumulate seven Premier League points in three games and progress through to the fifth round of the FA Cup following their 3-0 win over League Two side Cambridge United in their replay.

What`s more, United have scored three times in four of their last five home games, their only failure to grab a trio of goals in this period being when they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of fellow high-flyers Southampton. As a result, van Gaal`s Champions League hopefuls are 7/2 with Skybet to hit exactly three past Tom Heaton in the Clarets` net tomorrow.

The clubs` top scorers in these games were Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie who both hit the back of the net three times. The latter is the 4/1 favourite with Betvictor and paddy power to grab the first goal of the match whilst Rooney is 5/1 with most bookmakers to provide the deadlock breaker.
