Steal in on the early value with Villa

In the first of a new feature we recommend some early value on the weekend football.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Aston Villa look good things at 5/4 (paddy Power/CORAL/william hill) to see off Newcastle on Saturday (3:00pm). Villa have had a tough start to the season with games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all of whom are likely to finish in the top six. The season starts for real against Newcastle on Saturday. If you take away games against the top seven sides Villa are unbeaten in their last five home games, winning three and drawing two. Newcastle meanwhile have won just two away games this season though one of those did come last season at Villa Park. Villa though should have too much confidence and firepower this time around.

CHAMPIONSHIP

I like the look of Yeovil to get something from their visit to Sheffield Wednesday. The Glovers can be backed at 19/5 (STAN JAMES) or the draw is 13/5 (BETVICTOR/william hill). These sides sit next to each other in the league and have the same amount of points so even allowing for home advantage I can not understand the prices. bet365 are going 43/40 Yeovil with a 0.5 start on the Asian Handicap which seems good value as this will pay out on the draw and the Yeovil victory. Wednesday have won just one of their last ten games in the league while the Glovers have won away at Millwall already this season.

LEAGUE ONE

This division has proved tricky this season and this weekend the fixtures look tough as six of the top seven sides in the divison are at home. I will be keeping an eye on the anytime market for the price of Tom Bradshaw to score at anytime for Shrewsbury. The young Welshman has scored in each of his last three league games and I think he might be overlooked to score against Crawley. Crawley have conceded two goals in each of their home games so far this season so Bradshaw will fancy his chances. The young Welshman is an incredible 100/1 (bet365) to finish as topscorer this season which has to be worth a small interest seeing as he already has three goals to his name.

LEAGUE TWO

It is has been a perfect start to the season for Chesterfield as victory over Accrington on Saturday made it six wins from six league games. Many people will likely have them in their accumulators as they take on AFC Wimbledon. A word of caution though the Dons are playing well and victory over York on Saturday made it three league wins in a row. I think prices of 17/4 (BETVICTOR/SPREADEX) are a little insulting to the visitors as they are no mugs and have already seen off Fleetwood this season. The best way to play this is again on the Asian Handicap where the visitors are evens (188 BET) with a 0.75 start. This pays out on the win or draw and as a half loss if they lose by one goal.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Aston Villa to beat Newcastle, 5/4 (paddy Power/CORAL/WILLIAM HILL)
SILVER: Yeovil +0.5 on the Asian Handicap, 43/40 (bet365)
BRONZE: AFC Wimbledon +0.75 on the Asian Handicap, evens (188BET)
