The BT SPORT cameras will be at West Ham (12:45) Saturday lunchtime as the Hammers play host to Swansea in a game that will have an impact on the bottom of the table.
Swansea are marginal favourites at 13/8 (BETVICTOR/ladbrokes/william hill)) as they look to build on a 2-0 win over Fulham in midweek. The win moved them up to 11th despite it being their first win in nine. The Swans though look uneasy favourites as they have won none of their last five away in the Premier League and just one of their last eight.
West Ham will also be full of confidence after a battling point at Chelsea in a performance that was described by the Blues boss as ’19th century football.’ West Ham have won just one of their last eight at home though and none of their last five so odds of 19/10 (GENERAL) do not appeal while the draw can be backed at 12/5 (bet365/888 SPORT/unibet). NO in both teams to score market at 23/20 (WINNER) is the way to go as this has happened in five of last eight Hammer home ties and five of the last eight Swansea league away games.
Also on Saturday lunchtime (12:45) though not on television is the game between Newcastle and Sunderland from St James’ Park. The Magpies are the 19/20 (GENERAL) favourites for the game and will be looking for revenge after losing to Sunderland in the reverse fixtures. Newcastle were dominant against Norwich in midweek though lacked a cutting edge and the absence of Loic Remy through suspension means that Shola Ameobi will likely to be called on to continue his role as curse of the Black Cats. The Black Cats are in a good run of form that has seen them reach the League Cup final, the FA Cup fifth round and have lost just one of the last eight in the Premier League. Those who think Sunderland can complete the famous double can get them at 10/3 (GENERAL) while BETVICTOR and CORAL are going 13/5 that the game ends drawn.
The best bet in this game is taking Adam Johnson to get among the goals as he is in a rich vein of form. You can back the sunderland man at 14/1 (BWIN) to score first or 19/4 with the same firm he nets anytime. Johnson has five goals in his last three Premier League games and faces a Newcastle defence with no clean sheet in last seven home games.
Bottom of the table Cardiff know they must grab three points at home to Norwich on Saturday (15:00) and they are 13/10 (bet365/BETVICTOR/william hill) to do so.
The Welsh side have been playing well and not getting the results while the Canaries, with the exception of a second half against Hull, have been playing badly and sometimes getting the results. I like the Welsh side more though 13/10 is not great on a side with just one win from last six home games. Norwich boss Chris Hughton always seems happy with a draw, especially away from home, and it is 12/5 (GENERAL) this ends all square for the sixth time in the last 11 Norwich games while the Canaries are 5/2 (boylesports). I like the look of Anthony Pilkington at 18/1 (BETVICTOR) to score first or 13/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred/BETVICTOR) he nets anytime. Chris Hughton is likely to change from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 and with Gutierrez likely to provide a better option on the wing and Wes Hoolahan out of favour either Pilkington or Snodgrass might be giving a role off the forward.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Adam Johnson to score v Newcastle, first 14/1, anytime 19/4 (BWIN)
SILVER: Anthony Pilkington to score v Cardiff, first 18/1 (BETVICTOR), 13/2 anytime (TOTESPORT/betfred/BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: NO in both teams to score Swansea v West Ham, 23/20 (WINNER)
