Premier League

Chris Hughton must feel liked a curse man at the moment his Norwich side battered Cardiff last weekend but for a few minutes that saw the Welsh side score. Up next are Man City who hit Norwich for seven back in November and have something to prove after the Chelsea loss.

Man City are 3/10 (GENERAL) for victory as they look to continue a run that has seen them not lose successive Premier League matches since October 2010. Norwich most home that a passionate home crowd and a City hungover can see them spring the shock. Last season they did beat Man U, Tottenham and Arsenal in front of their own fans so they are not without hope though few will be backing them at 9/1 (GENERAL).

Man City at evens (WINNER) on the Asian handicap giving up a 1.5 start looks good as this will pay if they win by two or more and they have done so in five of their last seven away games. Norwich meanwhile have lost by two or more goals in six of their seven meetings with sides in the top six this season.

The points have been shared in all three Premier League meetings between Southampton and Stoke and it is 31/10 (BWIN) that the game ends all square on Saturday. The Saints looked might impressive in sweeping aside Fulham 3-0 last weekend and will fancy their chances against a Stoke side who have won just once away from home all season and have failed to score in five of their last six Premier League away games. Southampton might be a popular bet at 4/7 (GENERAL) and they are 3/2 (betway) to win to nil.

Stoke will be looking to build on victory over Man U last time out and they are 25/4 (888 SPORT/unibet) to hand Saints a fourth defeat from their last seven league home games.

The recommended bet is the 7/1 (BETVICTOR) that Charlie Adam scores the first Stoke goal as he is on a number of set-pieces and has scored four of the last seven for the Potters.

Sunderland come into the game with Hull on the back of a 3-0 victory over Newcastle and have won four of their last five at home. They take on a Tigers side who are lacking bite with no Premier League win in 2014 and have failed to score on their last 3 away games in the Premier League. It is hard to argue against the 23/20 (BETVICTOR) on the home victory.

The tea-time game (17:30, SKY SPORTS) is the Welsh derby as Swansea play host to Cardiff in a game that should be a passionate affair. Swansea sacked Michael Laudrup in midweek and promoted Gary Monk as they look to arrest a run of form that has seen them win just one of their last ten Premier League games.

Bookmakers make the Swans the 17/20 (TOTESPORT/betfred/ladbrokes) favourites though this is not a price that interests. Cardiff are 19/5 (BETVICTOR) and the draw is 13/5 (GENERAL) as they look to build on a massive three points against Norwich last weekend. I would recommend a bet on Steven Caulker at 40/1 (BWIN) to score the opener and 16/1 (BWIN) he nets anytime. The former Swansea loanee is a huge presence in the box at both ends and he will have noticed the way the Swans were dominated in the air by West Ham.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Sunderland to beat Hull, 23/20 (BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Man City to beat Norwich on Asian Handicap -1.50, evens (WINNER)
BRONZE: Charlie Adam to score first Stoke goal, 7/1 (BETVICTOR) VALUE: Steven Caulker to score v Swansea, first 40/1 (BWIN), anytime 16/1 (BWIN)
