If the midweek games involving West Brom and Liverpool are any indication then we should be in treat for when these sides meet at the Hawthorns Sunday (13:30, SKY SPORTS).
Bookmakers make Liverpool the 4/6 (GENERAL) favourites to win the game as they look to build on their impressive 4-0 demolition of Everton. The Reds have now gone six games unbeaten in all competitions, winning five of these. In addition Hull are the only bottom half of the table side to have beaten the Merseysiders this season.
The Baggies have won just three of their last 15 Premier League games at home and come into this on the back of a 4-3 defeat to local rivals Aston Villa. It will have been a frustrating defeat for West Brom manager Pepe Mel who saw his side go 2-0 up. The Spaniard must be given time to get things right though you a visit from Liverpool is likely the last thing he wanted especially if he watches the reverse fixture that the Reds won 4-1. I can not be siding with the Baggies to spring the shock at 5/1 (william hill) nor does the draw interest me at odds of 16/5 (GENERAL).
I like the look of Liverpool then but I think it makes sense to find a way to enhance the price and taking the 8/5 (BWIN) on Saurez to score anytime and a Reds win is excellent value. In addition the 2/1 (betfred/BWIN) on Sturridge to score in the game and Liverpool to win also looks an excellent bet. Sturridge has five in the last four games while Suarez has 23 goals from 21 appearances in all competitions this season.
If you prefer to take the SS strike force by themselves then you can get 4/5 (boylesports/CORAL) that Suarez nets in the game and a very generous 5/4 (ladbrokes/CORAL) that Sturridge gets among the goals.
The second part of the double header on Sunday (16:00, SKY SPORTS) is a London derby from the Emirates as Arsenal take on Crystal Palace. The Gunners are 1/4 (BETVICTOR) favourites for the game as they have won 14 and lost just one of their last 20 Premier League games in front of their own fans. A number of injuries has taken a hit on the Arsenal squad and they had to work to get a point from Southampton in midweek. I can not be advising the North London side then at such short odds.
Palace are club that we suggested weeks ago were headed in the direction under manager Tony Pulis and director of football Iain Moody who has done some excellent work in the transfer market. The Eagles have lost just two of their last six with these defearts coming at the Etihad and White Hart Lane. In both those defeats Palace avoided a hammering and as such they have to be considered some value on the Asian Handicap. You can try different combinations but I am interested in the 47/20 (bet365) offering which gives Palace a 1.0 headstart. This means that if Palace win the game or the match ends drawn you will be paid out while if the tie ends in a one goal Gunners victory you will be refunded your money.
Olivier Giroud is the main man for Arsenal in front of goal and the Frenchman is 10/3 (SPREADEX) to open the scoring while he is 10/11 (SPREADEX) to net at anytime. Santi Cazorla is also in excellent form in front of goal and has five goals in his last five games. The Spaniard might offer more appeal at 12/5 (bet365) in the anytime scorer market. Palace fans meanwhile might like the 17/2 (bet365) on Jason Puncheon to score anytime after a run of three goals from his last four Premier League games.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Daniel Sturridge to score anytime and Liverpool win, 2/1 (betfred/BWIN)
SILVER: Luis Suarez to score anytime and Liverpool win, 8/5 (BWIN)
BRONZE: Crystal Palace +1.0 on Asian Handicap v Arsenal, 47/20 (bet365)
