Wolves will be looking to re-ignite their home form tomorrow as the Midlands side take on Kit Symons` Fulham in their FA Cup replay. The Cottagers` league progress has stalled somewhat since their rise from the foot of the Championship table though they managed to hold Wanderers to a goalless draw at Craven Cottage in the first leg.
Both teams are playing to secure fourth round status and earn themselves a match away at Premier League side Sunderland.
Tomorrow`s home team are unbeaten in all five of their last second tier games but have only won once at home since the end of November, prior to which they had only tasted defeat twice at Molyneux. This win was a positive 2-1 result against play-off place occupiers Brentford in a game that contained two own-goals. Nouha Dicko opened the scoring for the Black Country side before James Tarkowski made it two by hitting the initial own goal. The Bees grabbed a late consolation as Danny Batth turned the ball into the back of his own net three minutes from time though Wolves were good for the win.
An up-turn in their overall form, however, has seen Kenny Jackett`s men bounce their way up to eighth position, only a single point outside of the play-off zone. As a result, Wolves are the 19/20 (Coral) favourites to knock 19th placed Fulham out of the competition.
Symons` Cottagers have only recorded four wins on the road in all competitions so far this season. Indeed, all of these victories have been by a one goal margin so if you fancy placing a bet on an unlikely away win, it might be worth picking up 14/1 (Coral) on a 2-1 Fulham triumph.
Two goals to one seems more likely than a slight 1-0 success (13/1 - betway) as Fulham have conceded more goals than any other team in the Championship. Having said this, the away side have failed to score a goal in all of their last four matches, culminating in a 1-0 defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium last time out, so it might be a case of six of one, half a dozen of the other.
All of paddy Power, Skybet and Stan James are offering 5/1 on a Fulham win by a one goal margin. The best price for a straight up Cottagers win is 10/3 with bet365 whilst a draw after 90 minutes has been priced up at 3/1 at betfred. Betting against the home team might be a loose thing to do, however, with the two sides having met already in the league this season. Only the third game of the campaign and with Fulham`s much maligned manager Felix Magath still in charge, Bakary Sako proved to be the difference between the two sides as he hit the back of the net in the 15th minute.
Symons` side will, however, take comfort from the knowledge that Wolves` six-time goalscorer and their September headache Sako is missing from their line-up. The 26-year-old winger has travelled to Equatorial Guinea to represent his country Mali at the African Cup of Nations. Consequentially, top scorer (7) and Brentford hero Dicko is the 17/10 (Betbright, betfair, ladbrokes) favourite to hit the back of the net at any time.
In other team news, Wolves` young defender Kortney Hause is once again cup-tied after having played in the competition for League One outfit Gillingham. Tommy Rowe is a long term absentee following surgery to his metatarsal.
Fulham`s Lasse Vigen Christiansen will be unavailable after limping off in the first leg of this tie a forenight ago.
