Three televised FA Cup games take place on Sunday as the Fourth Round action continues here is our guide to the best of the bets.
The opening game is a West London derby between Brentford and Chelsea at Griffin Park. Chelsea are the 3/10 (general) favourites and it is hard to see past them here despite their disappointment of going out of the League Cup in midweek. The Blues have lost just one of their last 35 FA Cup games (not counting penalties) though if you think Brentford can do the business you can get them here at 23/2 (pinnacle). The draw meanwhile is available at 41/8 (pinnacle). The Bees have won just one of their last 13 FA Cup games against Premier League sides.
Those looking for a first goalscorer bet will see the market is headed by Dembe Ba 3/1 (paddy Power/Coral) while Fernando Torres is 7/2 (paddy Power/BWin/ladbrokes) to grab the opener. Juan Mata who has grabbed four goals and assisted five in his last eight FA Cup appearances is 5/1 (ladbrokes/Coral) to open the scoring while Frank Lampard who has scored six and assisted four in his last ten FA Cup appearances is 6/1 (Totesport/betfred) to grab the opener.
I think the best bet in this game is to take Chelsea on the Asian Handicap to cover -1.5 which is available at 10/11 (Pinnacle). Chelsea blow very hot and cold but they have ripped better teams then Brentford apart recently beating Stoke 4-0, Southampton 5-1 and Aston Villa 8-0. If the Blues get going early then this could be a tough afternoon for Brentford.
The second of the three live games pitches Leeds against Tottenham. Leeds fans will have been right to be concerned with the draw as they have been eliminated out of this competition by a North London side in each of the last three years losing to Tottenham in 2010 and Arsenal in 2011 and 2012. It is 7/10 (bet365/paddy Power/william hill that Tottenham win at Elland Road and they enter the game in good form with no defeat in their last eight games. Leeds though will be encouraged by the fact they have lost just one of their last eight games at home and are 9/2 (general). The draw meanwhile is available at 53/17 (Pinnacle). I expect this game to feature a lot of goals and as such it might be worth a small interest on this game going over 3.5 goals at 2/1 (william hill) as Neil Warnock has promised that his side will not sit back while Tottenham are very strong on the counter attack.
The final game of the triple-header sees Oldham entertain Liverpool at Boundary Park. These sides have met four times in the FA Cup with Liverpool progressing through each time. The most recent time these sides met was last season in the third round which the Merseysiders won 5-1. Bookmakers expect them to dominate again here and they are a best priced 2/7 (paddy power/william hill). Those who think this game could spring a shock can get Oldham at 272/19 (Pinnacle) and the draw is 11/2 (bet365/Skybet/Bet Victor).
The way to play this game is in taking the 19/20 (betway) that Liverpool score three or more goals. Oldham have conceded two goals in each of their last four home games and that was against League One sides. Liverpool meanwhile have hit 14 in their last five games and will fancy their chances here.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Chelsea to cover -1.5 on Asian Handicap, 10/11 (Pinnacle)
SILVER:Liverpool to score three or more goals, 19/20 (betway)
BRONZE: Over 3.5 goals in Leeds v Tottenham, 2/1 (william hill)
