The Premier League continues Wednesday night with six games including the live game between Arsenal and Livepool. Here is our guide to all the action.
Arsenal and Liverpool had a mixed weekend in the FA Cup with the Gunners winning 3-2 at Brighton while the Merseysiders suffered a shock loss at Oldham. Now back to the league and both these sides will be keen to get points on the board as they hold ambitions of taking that fourth Champions League slot. As a result of them being at home bookmakers have Arsenal the 29/20 (BetVictor) favourites. The Gunners have a good record against Liverpool in recent times losing just one of their last 11 in the league. Six of those games did end in a draw and another draw can be backed at 38/15 (pinnacle) while a Liverpool victory is 9/4 (Stan James). Those who are looking for a bet on the televised game could do worse than look at the under 2.5 goals market at 24/19 (32 Red). Three of the last five Arsenal home games have featured under 2.5 goals and other than the 5-2 with Tottenham games between strong sides at the Emirates tend to be tighter affairs than the prices would suggest.
Everton and West Brom seem to have hit a slump in form though it is the Baggies who seem to have gone off the rails the most. The Toffees are 8/13 (general) to win this game which offers no value while the draw is 59/18 (pinnacle) and the West Brom win is 109/19 (Pinnacle). The bet in this game must be on Romelu Lukaku who is great value at 10/1 (paddy Power) in the first scorer market and 16/5 with the same bookmaker in the anytime market. The Belgian has netted seven goals in his nine league starts.
Norwich and Tottenham will be both looking to bounce back after disappointing exits in the cup and Spurs are the 17/20 (general) favourites with the draw 14/5 (Stan James) and a Canaries victory at 15/4 (bet365). The pick of the bets here is in taking Mousa Dembele to score v Norwich. The midfielder has netted in both league games against Norwich this season (once for Fulham) and with Scott Parker around is given more licence to get forward. He is 16/1 (ladbrokes) to score the opener or 5/1 (ladbrokes/william hill) to score anytime.
Man United should beat Southampton but at 1/4(BetVictor/Coral) it is not a price to be rushing to get involved with. People will expect the Saints to get smashed though it could be tricker for United then most think as Southampton have tightened up in recent weeks. It might be worth a play on the time of first goal market at over 30 minutes with william hill at 13/10.
On a pure statistics basis Reading must be good value to beat Chelsea seeing as they have won just three of their last eight while Reading have won five of their last six. Odds of 13/2 (bet365/BetVictor/Stan James) on a home win are reasonable value. I will swerve this market though as Chelsea could steamroll them if they are in the mood while Reading have registered no sort of form against the top four. Dembe Ba is likely to start after not featuring much against Brentford in the cup and 6/5 (Coral) in the anytime scorer market looks massive.
The final game that evening is the one that sees Fulham against West Ham and a draw looks the play here in a game between two badly out of form sides. It will not be pretty as neither side can afford to lose so take the draw at 13/5 (Stan James).
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Dembe Ba to score anytime v Reading, 6/5 (Coral)
SILVER: Romelu Lukaku to score v Everton, first 10/1, anytime 16/5 (paddy Power)
BRONZE: Draw between Fulham and West Ham, 13/5 (Stan James)
