A field of 24 runners will line up for the Pertemps Network Final this afternoon, the winner looking to follow in the footsteps of last year`s victor Fingal Bay. The current favourite for this 3m listed handicap hurdle is Gigginstown representative Edeymi though a close race is expected, the last winning market leader being Inching Closer back in 2002.

Edeymi is the clear 17/2 favourite (betway) this morning, looking to provide the second victory of the Festival for trainer Tony Martin and jockey Bryan Cooper. One of the bottom weights for this handicap, the horse has been ridden twice on the track since returning from a long absence. Whilst the seven-year-old has failed to win either of the 3m events, the son of Barathea recorded a positive fourth when in the Musselburgh class two qualifier for this race, finishing behind Nicky Henderson`s Dawalan (14/1 - Numerous) and Run Runctions Run for Tim Easterby (18/1 - 32red, Stan James). Second placed Kruzhlinin does not line up today.

The Martin horse is expected to improve more than those placed horses being the best off of the three in the weights. With Festival experience already under his belt when finishing second in the Fred Winter of 2012 and being brought down in the 2013 Martin Pipe, Edeymi should be one to watch.

There are a number of entrants jostling for the second favourite position, these being Regal Encore for Anthony Honeyball and AP McCoy, Call The Cops for Nicky Henderson and Andrew Tinkler and Brother Brian for Hughie Morrison and Tom O`Brien. All of these horses can be backed at a price of 10/1 at most bookmakers.

The former is one of three entrants declared for owner JP McManus. The ex-Champion Bumper place horse has been ridden three times at three different distances this season. His best performance came in the 23f Exeter qualifier for this race, finishing the three length victor. The 139 rated runner has not been too heavily punished for this run by the handicapper, it`s just whether he will be able to improve to listed level. His chances take a significant boost with McCoy`s booking and should be there or thereabouts.

Nicky Henderson`s Call The Cops only managed to be fourth of eight in his 21f Kempton qualifier for this race but took a huge leap in the improvement stakes to lead home the runners in a class two Doncaster three-miler. The lightly raced Matt & Lauren Morgan mount put five lengths between himself and his nearest rival (who carried 11lbs less) back in February and looks progressive enough to make further headway here.

Call The Cops will also be benefitted by the course conditions, though must adapt as he looks to take on the first big field handicap of his career.

Brother Brian is a three-time Cheltenham entrant and one-time course winner, scooping a 20f win on good in his last run of last season. This year, the son of Millenary beat Call The Cops by five lengths when first past the post in the Kempton qualifier, though running off a higher mark in his first attempt at 3m throws his winning credentials into flux.

Even infrequent punters will recognise the name Pineau De Re, Richard Newland`s 2014 Grand National winner. The horse looks for success in the Pertemps despite being the oldest horse in the race and having failed to perform since that history making victory. The 12-year-old was third in last year`s renewal and could bounce back to form at 33/1 (Stan James).

Of the remainder, Trustan Times (22/1 - bet365, Betvictor), Closing Ceremony (28/1 - Numerous) and Dolatulo (66/1 - Numerous) look the best of the big each-way chances.
