League 1

Bristol City will seal promotion to the Championship tonight should they beat Bradford City away from home and MK Dons lose away at their play-off chasing rivals, Fleetwood.

City currently sit at the top of the League One table, they having to lose all of their remaining four games to give the Milton Keynes side even a sniff of replacing them in the automatic promotion places. The MK Dons would also have to win all of their games from now to the end of the season for this to happen. Recording a loss against Bradford would allow second placed Preston to close the gap on the league leaders to five, the North West club also having a game in hand, whilst a victory for City would see them one step closer to bouncing back into the second tier of English football.

Bradford, whose season will be defined by an extraordinary FA Cup run that saw them defeat Premier League superpower Chelsea, have an outside chance of securing a play-off place. A win for the Yorkshire club would put them a place above Fleetwood Town and four points off Chesterfield who occupy the final play-off position. Losing tonight would not end their ambitions of a top six finish though they would be severely dented.

The last time the two clubs met was back in October in the reverse League One fixture at Bristol City`s Aston Gate. The two sides could not be separated in this match-up, the game ending tied at 2-2. Aden Flint grabbed the opening goal for the home side with the encounter only eight minutes young though Billy Clarke levelled up for Phil Parkinson`s visitors just over 10 minutes later. The game would be 1-1 at the end of the first 45.

It would remain this way until the final 10 minutes of the clash when Flint netted his second to see the hosts go one to the good. This lead was short lived with Christopher Routis equalising less than three minutes later to see the match end tied.

Both Betvictor and william hill have the best price of 16/1 on this reverse fixture ending up as another two all draw. Bwin`s 23/4 says that exactly four goals will be scored in the match once again. Flint is available for backing at 40/1 (paddy Power) to grab another brace whilst he is on offer at 14/1 at ladbrokes to provide the game with its first goal.

Despite being unable to get the better of Bradford at home, it is Steve Cotterill`s visitors who are the favourites to earn themselves all three points from tonight`s clash. A number of bookmakers are offering the best price of 7/5 on an away victory. In what should be a close encounter, Bradford are up for grabs at 11/5 (Numerous) whilst a second draw between the two teams is available at 12/5 (Numerous).

This could be a great time for the champions-elect to play Bradford with the Yorkshire club having failed to pick up a point in either of their last two games. Parkinson`s men have also been unable to even grab a goal in either one of these matches. Coral have the West Country club at 16/5 to beat the Bantams off by their third consecutive defeat to nil.

The last time the Robins tasted defeat on the road was back at the end of February, that being in a 3-2 defeat away at Colchester. In their subsequent six away games they have scored 13 goals, four of these coming from Aaron Wilbraham.

Having scored the last goal on three of these four occasions, the striker is available at 11/2 (bet365, betfred, Betvictor) to be the last goalscorer tonight.
