It is not shaping up to be a classic game Sunday when Southampton take on West Ham in a game that pits two sides who have scored a combined four between them in the league this season.
Bookmakers have the Saints as the 17/20 (GENERAL) favourites which is unbackable for me. Southampton have won just three of their last 11 home games in the league and none of their last four.
The visitors are 4/1 (WINNER/BETVICTOR) which looks value considering there is little to choose between the pair. Admittedly the Hammers have a terrible away record winning just one of their last 15 away games and are struggling for goals in the absence of Andy Carroll. You could though same the same about Southampton and as stated before the home form is not enough to suggest they should be such short odds. West Ham took four points off them last season including a draw here in April. The London side have to be value then with a 0.5 start on the Asian Handicap at 9/8 (188 BET).
Those looking for a scorer bet will struggle to pick out names but Rickie Lambert fresh from his England appearances might appeal at 31/20 (BETVICTOR) to score anytime while his strike partner Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is a 9/5 (BETVICTOR) chance. For West Ham Modibo Maiga is expected to lead the line and although hardly prolific he did score against the Saints last season and is 17/4 (BETVICTOR) to do so here. It is Kevin Nolan though who offers the most appeal and the Hammers midfielder is generously priced at 9/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred/paddy Power) to score anytime.
The opening game of the triple-header of live domestic football action Sunday is the game between Ross County and Dundee United in the SPL. County are the 13/8 (BETVICTOR) marginal favourites for the game as they look to continue a run of home form that has seen them lose just two of their last 15 home games.
Dundee United have drawn five of their last seven away games and can be backed at 12/5 (TOTESPORT/betfred) while a United victory is priced at 19/10 (SKYBET/boylesports/paddy Power).
Richard Brittain is value in the anytime scorer market as he averages a goal every 135 minutes and is 17/4 (BETVICTOR). The Ross County player has grabbed three in his last three and is on penalties.
With just one live game in the Premier League this Sunday it is a Championship match that is the first part of the live SKY double-header. The game that kicks-off at 13:15 is between Reading and Brighton.
The Royals are the 11/8 (william hill) favourites for the game though they have won just one of their last eight games at home. They have though won their last six games against Brighton and a win at Yeovil last time out will have boosted morale. Brighton were a little slow out of the blocks but have got going since taking seven points from their last three games and are 12/5 (GENERAL) for victory while the draw is also a 12/5 (GENERAL) chance.
This is a tough game to predict so is one to swerve from a betting point of view.

SILVER: Kevin Nolan to score anytime, 9/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred/paddy power)
