Wigan the value bet in Saturday live games

The pick of the bets from the live games on Saturday comes in the lunchtime (12:15, SKY) Championship game on Saturday that sees Blackpool at home to Wigan.

I like the look of the visitors to get something from the game against a side that has started to come off the boil a little after their strong start to the season. Blackpool have failed to win any of their last five and are up against a Wigan side who are looking for a third straight victory. The Tangerines have drawn each of their last four so I want to keep the tie on side and will do so by backing Wigan -0.25 on the Asian Handicap 1256/1000 (ladbrokes) which pays out full on a Wigan win and as a half loss if the game ends drawn.

The Premier League makes a welcome return Saturday lunchtime with the game between Newcastle and Liverpool in a 12:45 (BT SPORT) kick-off. The Mersysiders are now on a run of five wins and two from their last seven Premier League games and can be backed at 9/10 (ladbrokes) for victory here while the draw is a 14/5 (BETVICTOR/paddy Power/STAN JAMES) chance.

Newcastle must look to put right their home problems that that has seen them win just one of their last six at home in the Premier League and a Newcastle victory against Liverpool can be backed at 7/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred).

Those looking for anytime scorer bet might be tempted by Luis Suarez who has scored three in his last two and is 13/10 (SPREADEX) to net in 90 minutes as is teammate Daniel Sturridge who has six goals this season. Loic Remy is in great scoring form for Newcastle having netted five in his last five and is 9/4 (GENERAL) to grab one in this game.

The bet I like on this match is in the assist market where Jose Enrique is 11/2 (boylesports) general to assist at anytime and this seems decent on a player who is given a lot more freedom to get forward in the new 3-4-1-2 formation that Liverpool are playing and who grabbed an assist last time out against Crystal Palace.

The evening game comes from London (17:30 SKY) and sees West Ham take on Man City. The Hammers will be full of confidence after their 3-0 victory over Tottenham last time out and are 9/2 (GENERAL) for victory. The London side though have lost their two at home in the league and are up against a City side who are unbeaten in the last six meetings between the pair. A Man City victory is priced at 8/11 (BETVICTOR/CORAL) while the draw which has been the result in three of the last five meetings between the sides at Upton Park is 14/5 (BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES).

Sergio Aguero is 6/4 (bet365) to net at anytime while Alvaro Negredo who has is a 13/8 (bet365) chance. Yaya Toure has four this season and has scored three goals in his last four appearances against the Hammers is a 3/1 (bet365/888 SPORT/unibet) chance to net. For West Ham Ravel Morison is the man in form with five goals from his last five appearances in all competitions and he is 13/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred) to net at anytime. The bet here could be on the NO in the both teams to score market at 11/10 (paddy Power/STAN JAMES/SPREADEX). This bet would have paid in four of the last six West Ham home league games and in three of the last five Man City away games.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Wigan -0.25 on Asian Handicap v Blackpool, 1256/1000 (ladbrokes)
SILVER: Jose Enrique to assist anytime v Newcastle, 11/2 (boylesports)
BRONZE: NO both teams to score West Ham v Man City, 11/10 (paddy Power/STAN JAMES/SPREADEX)
