Chelsea will look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League with a win at home to strugglers Burnley tomorrow afternoon. The Blues are currently seven points clear of reigning champions Manchester City in second and look good for the win against the 19th placed side.
Burnley are four points clear of Leicester who are rock bottom in the table so will remain in 19th should they lose against Jose Mourinho`s men tomorrow. A surprising win on the other hand, could see them escape the drop zone and realistically move to as high as 16th should other results go their way.
The two teams first met on the opening day of the season, the Clarets falling to a 3-1 defeat at Turf Moor. It wasn`t all plain sailing for the Blues, who had to come from behind after Scott Arfield`s 15th minute opener but responded quickly with Diego Costa levelling up three minutes later.
Andre Schurrle, who now plies his trade for Wolfsburg in Germany, doubled Chelsea`s advantage just following the 20 minute mark before Branislav Ivanovic scored the final goal of the game 10 minutes prior to half time.
The London side are the 2/9 favourites with Betbright to do the double over Burnley. bet365`s 12/1 says the result will be 3-1 for the second time this season whilst 3/1 (bet365, Skybet) says that the Blues will succeed in recording a two goal margin of victory once again.
Betfair believe a draw to be unlikely with 7/1 being their odds on the sides being unable to be separated after 90 minutes. What is considered to be even less likely, however, is an away win, Sean Dyche`s men available at 18/1 at betfair and Betvictor to pick up all three points.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are currently five matches unbeaten in the Premier League, whilst also being unbeaten all season in the top tier at home. Indeed, Mourinho`s table toppers have taken 13 points from their last five games held at home, only dropping two points in a draw against Manchester City.
Eight Chelsea goals have been scored in these five matches, Diego Costa being the top scorer from these games with three. The Spaniard is 8/11 with Coral to hit the back of the net at any time tomorrow whilst is also 3/1 with the same bookmaker to provide the closing goal, all of his three goals in this period being the last to be scored in their respective games.
Four clean sheets were kept in these five games and the side are 10/11 with Skybet to win to nil tomorrow. Conversely, Burnley are 30/1 (Betvictor, paddy Power) to win to nil whilst a goalless draw is available for support at 18/1 with most bookmakers.
Burnley have only won once on the road all season in the league, that being back in November in a 2-1 win over Stoke. In their last five away games, Dyche`s Lancastrian side have accumulated two points, these being in draws against Manchester City (2-2) and Newcastle (3-3).
Having only failed to score on one of these five occasions, Burnley are going through a purple patch of scoring on their travels. Three players have scored six of the seven goals in these matches, Ashley Barnes, Danny Ings and George Boyd all twice getting their name on the scoresheet. Out-going Ings is the favourite to add to his tally at any time, 11/2 with betfair.
Burnley have conceded 15 times in these five games, an average of three a game. Three-to-one (Skybet, Spreadex, william hill) says Chelsea will hit exactly three against the strugglers again tomorrow.
