Selhurst Park Plays Host To Palace Arsenal Clash

Premier League

Crystal Palace will be able to pull away from the relegation zone should they be able to grab a victory at home to London rivals Arsenal tomorrow afternoon. The Eagles currently sit in 13th position in the league following the success brought by recently appointed manager Alan Pardew. A win over the Gunners would see them usurp Everton in 12th ahead of the Toffees` Sunday clash with Leicester, whilst a loss could see them fall to as low as 15th.

The incentive is just as great for their opponents, however. Arsenal could feasibly move into one of the Champions League positions with the three points on offer. Manchester United and Southampton, the teams they could replace in the top four, play Swansea and Liverpool respectively over the weekend.

Palace and Arsenal met in their opening game of the season, the Emirates playing host to a 2-1 Gunners win. Arsene Wenger`s men successfully came back from a goal down to stop an unlikely early upset, Laurent Koscielny equalising just before the restart following fellow defender Brede Hangeland`s Palace deadlock breaker.

Aaron Ramsay provided the winner right in the dying embers of the match, Palace, then under the stewardship of Neil Warnock, having to make the short trip home empty-handed.

Indeed, Arsenal are the favourites to do the double over Crystal Palace, betfred, Totesport and william hill all offering the best price of 17/20 on an away win. A number of bookmakers have priced a second 2-1 win up at 8/1 whilst Arsenal to win by a margin of a goal is available for support at 29/10 with Betvictor.

Eleven-to-four is the price available at a number of betting establishments should you think that the match will end a draw whilst a home win is 4/1 at both ladbrokes and william hill.

The Eagles have picked up four points from their three Premier League home games played under Pardew. Three points were picked up in their 2-1 win over Europe hopefuls Tottenham before falling to a defeat against Everton (1-0) and drawing 1-1 with Newcastle. They have, however, only conceded once in each of these encounters and Arsenal are 10/11 to score under 1.5 goals (betfred, Coral, sportingbet) against them tomorrow.

Interestingly, the seven of eight Palace games under Pardew that have not ended tied have been decided by one goal. This re-inforces the strong case for Arsenal to win the match by a one goal margin of victory. This is, again, available at 29/10 with Betvictor. The Eagles, contrarily, can be backed at 11/2 (ladbrokes, Skybet) to record a victory by a single goal.

Despite having only collected seven points in their last five Premier League games on their travels, Arsenal have scored seven goals. Both Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla are the club`s top scorers from these clashes with two goals a-piece.

Cazorla opened the scoring against both West Ham and Manchester City and can be backed at 10/1 (32red, 888sport, betfair, unibet) to provide the deadlock breaker once again. Meanwhile, Giroud, who scored the second of the Gunners two goals in their win over Manchester City and scored their second in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool, is 9/5 with Spreadex to hit the back of the net at any time.

Wenger`s men have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight fixtures in all competitions. Similarly, Palace have only failed to score once in their eight games under Alan Pardew. Interested punters can get a price of 10/11 with both betfred and William Hill on both teams getting on the scoresheet once again tomorrow.
