Neither Sunderland nor West Bromwich Albion have had the best of seasons though neither are favourites for the drop, sitting in 15th and 14th places respectively.

Sunderland can only supersede Albion with a win at the Stadium of Light tomorrow whilst a victory for West Brom could see them rise to as high as 12th, usurping both Crystal Palace and Everton. Tony Pulis` new club could also put seven points between themselves and the drop zone should they triumph and other results go their way. A twist of fate means that Hull and QPR are also clashing tomorrow, the only thing that stops Gus Poyet`s Tyneside club from dropping into the relegation zone if they lose against the Baggies at the weekend. Wins for Sunderland and Hull would see Albion parachute to 16th position.

The last time these two clubs met was on the opening day of the season, the match ending tied 2-2. It took less than five minutes for Lee Cattermole to put Sunderland ahead at the The Hawthorns, a lead that lasted just over 35 minutes, Saido Berahino hitting the back of the net to send the two sides in level.

Many thought that Berahino`s second goal of the encounter would see the Black Cats leave the Black Country empty handed though Sebastian Larsson was on hand to equalise five minutes from time.

Expected to be a future England regular in the next few years, Berahino is 17/1 with paddy Power to score another two or more goals in tomorrow`s match-up. This would be the fourth time in all competitions this season that the Burundi-born star has scored at least a brace.

Sunderland are the slight favourites to grab the win at home tomorrow, william hill having the best price on a victory for the Mackems at 7/4. Most bookmakers have priced West Brom up at 2/1 for the win whilst Coral`s 23/10 says that the two clubs will play out a draw for the second time this season. Think the game will end 2-2 once again? That`s 20/1 at bet365. Betvictor`s 17/4 is the best price should you think that over 3.5 goals will be scored for the second time in succession.

The Stadium of Light outfit have accumulated four points from their last five games at home, a disappointing record that has seen them ship seven goals and score only four.

All of the North East club`s four goals have been bagged by different players though the favourite to hit the back of the net against Albion is Jermain Defoe, who`s 5/2 with Bwin to score at any time.

The former England international closed the scoring in a 2-0 win over Burnley, his first goal since joining the club from MLS side Toronto FC. Most betting establishments have 11/2 on the 32-year-old being the last goalscorer in this weekend`s encounter.

That win over Burnley was only the club`s third home clean sheet and the Mackems are 7/4 with Spreadex to not concede tomorrow. Alternatively, it`s 21/20 (Numerous) on both teams to score. Pulis has been in charge of West Brom since the turn of the new year, overseeing four away games in all competitions. They are currently on a four game unbeaten run on their travels under their new boss, a 2-1 win against Midlands rivals Birmingham in the FA Cup complementing three league draws.

Victor Anichebe scored a brace against Birmingham and he is the 18/5 with 888sport and unibet to score past Costel Pantilimon at any time. Such a large price has something to do with the Nigerian picking up an injury in their 2-2 draw away at Burnley and he may not return for the sunderland clash.
