Premier League

Aston Villa take on Chelsea in the only Premier League fixture on Saturday. Here is our guide to the best of the bets from this game and the outright markets in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Aston Villa know that they are close to hitting their targets for the season, Villa are on 40 points and victory here would secure their Premier League status while Chelsea know that a win would secure them a spot in the Champions League. Bookmakers have the London side as 17/20 (GENERAL) favourites which looks fair as the last time these sides met Chelsea crushed Villa 8-0. The Blues have a Europa League final on Wednesday and will be keen to wrap up Champions League qualification by then. Villa have won three of their last five games though have won just three of their last 11 at home in the league. Chelsea meanwhile are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions. Those who fancy Villa can get them at 7/2 (bet365/boylesports/william hill) while the draw is available at 14/5 (bet365/BETVICTOR). The first goalscorer market is headed by Dembe Ba at 11/2 (GENERAL) while Christian Benteke is a 6/1 (GENERAL) chance. Oscar is the player in form for Chelsea grabbing three in his last four Premier League appearances and is 571/50 (YOU WIN) to net first or 7/2 (SKYBET/YOU WIN) anytime. Gabriel Agbonlahor is the player in form for Aston Villa scoring six in his last seven league games and he is 9/1 (GENERAL) to score first or 3/1 (SKYBET/888 SPORT) to score anytime. One bet I like the look of in this game is in the anytime assist market where Ashley Westwood is a massive 11/1 (boylesports). Westwood has created six goals this season including both in the game against Norwich last time out. Another bet I think is good value is backing Chelsea to win but not to nil. The two themes of this piece have been how I think Chelsea have too much class for Villa while Villa possess a number of players in great scoring form. So instead of taking Chelsea to win the game at 17/20 why not take them to win the game but not to nil at 12/5 (CORAL/SPREADEX).

Both these games will have a big effect on the relegation market as well as the market to finish in the top four. Wigan are just 2/7 for the drop (BETVICTOR/SPREADEX) following their loss to Swansea in midweek. Norwich are 7/1 (GENERAL) while Newcastle are 10/1 (GENERAL). Sunderland and Southampton meet on Saturday with the Black Cats 20/1 (SPREADEX) and the Saints 80/1 (GENERAL). Aston Villa are 100/1 (GENERAL) while Fulham are still not safe at 200/1 (SPREADEX). Chelsea need just three points to be certain of a top four finish and are 1/12 (GENERAL) to finish in the top four while Arsenal are 3/10 (bet365/boylesports/paddy Power) and Tottenham are 19/10 (SKYBET). One last I think might be worth a little interest is Liverpool to finish in the top six at 15/2 (SKYBET). The Reds are five points behind Everton but Everton have two tough games left with West Ham at home next and away to Chelsea on the last day. Liverpool are at Fulham and at home to QPR both of which look very winnable. The Red half of Merseyside have a much better goal difference and if Everton pick up just one point and Liverpool six they will pass them.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Chelsea to beat Aston Villa but not to nil, 12/5 (CORAL/SPREADEX)
SILVER: Liverpool to finish in the top six, 15/2 (SKYBET)
BRONZE: Ashley Westwood to assist anytime in the game, 11/1 (boylesports)
