Three games take place in the Premier League on Sunday and here is our guide to the best of the bets from these games.
The bottom two sides meet on Sunday in a game that will have little impact other than confirming that whoever loses this match will be relegated then and there. The winning side will likely just have a stay of execution. Reading are 13/8 (betfred) to win the game while the draw is 5/2 (bet365/BETVICTOR) and the away victory is 15/8 (bet365). Both sides are struggling with Reading taking just one point from their last ten games while QPR have taken just one point from their last five games. These are two badly out of form sides with little to play for and you would have to be crazy to want to get involved in the match markets. Those looking for a bet on the game might want to consider NO in the both teams to score market which is available at 5/4 (SPREADEX). Reading have failed to score in three of their last four home games while QPR have failed to find the net in the last three hours and five minutes of Football.
Chelsea take on Swansea Sunday in a game that they need to win to keep off the threat of Tottenham who are just one point behind them in the race for the Champions League. It is 4/11 (GENERAL) that Chelsea will win this game while the draw is available at 9/2 (bet365) and a Swansea victory is 10/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred). The price on the London side looks a little short seeing as they played in the Europa League Thursday while Swansea have had the week off. In addition Swansea are unbeaten in the last four head-to-head games between the sides, with three of them coming this season (two in the League Cup). I find the best bet when Sansea are playing a big team is to take the under 2.5 goals and this game seems to be no exception. The last four meetings between these sides have seen under 2.5 goals as has two of the last three and six of the last 11 Chelsea home games. Just five of the last 15 Swansea away games in the league have seen over 2.5 goals so it is clear that Laudrup likes to keep things tight on the road. Take the under 2.5 goals in this game which is available at 13/8 (CORAL).
The third and final game of the day Sunday is the one that sees Robin Van Persie make his return to the Emirates. The Dutchman can afford himself a happy smile as his decision to leave the Gunners for United to win trophies looks to have been vindicated. Despite having won the league title and having nothing to play for I think Alex Ferguson will have his players up for this game and Robin Van Persie is certainly going to be up for this match. Van Persie looked unstoppable against Villa on Monday night and therefore I think United have to be backed to win this. The odds on them to win this are huge you can get them at 5/2 (BETVICTOR) while an Arsenal victory is priced at 13/10 (BETVICTOR/paddy Power) and the draw is available at 13/5 (bet365/SKYBET). Despite the fact that Arsenal are playing for the Champions League I think this a case of the best side still winning out rather the side that needs to win. Back Man United in the draw no bet market which will return money if the game ends drawn. United are available at 11/8 (CORAL/william hill) in this market. As for Van Persie he is a generous 6/4 (BET365/BETVICTOR) in the anytime goalscorer market which looks worth taking as he looks to add to his tally of 17 goals from his last 17 Premier League appearances. In fact so confident am I of the form of the Dutchman I will also recommend backing Van Persie in the to score two or more goals market at 17/2 (BET365)
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Man United to beat Arsenal in draw no bet market, 11/8 (CORAL/william hill)
SILVER: Robin Van Persie to score anytime v Arsenal, 6/4 (BET365/BETVICTOR)
BRONZE: Robin Van Persie to score two or more v Arsenal, 17/2 (BET365)
