Here is the first of our three part guide to the final day of action in the Premier League. Looking at first at four of the games that do not have any issues affecting them.
Chelsea take on Everton in a game that will certainly mark the final game in charge for David Moyes at Everton and likely mark the final game in charge for Rafa Benitez at Chelsea. Bookmakers have Chelsea as the 7/10 (CORAL) favourites for the game as they look to continue a run of form that has seen them take 17 points from their last seven league games. Everton though are also in good form losing just one of their last nine in the league and they can be backed at 9/2 (GENERAL) while the draw is available at 31/10 (BETVICTOR). The bet in this game could be an interest in Kevin Miralles to get among the goals as he has four in his last eight including two last time out. Bookmakers have him priced at 11/1 (bet365/paddy Power) to score first or 7/2 (GENERAL) in the anytime scorer market.
If ever a game looked a home banker then it is the one that pitches Liverpool against QPR and the bookmakers agree having the Reds as short as 1/4 (GENERAL) for victory. Liverpool are on a great run of form to end the season losing just of their last 15 games in the Premier League. QPR meanwhile are limping to the end of the season taking just two points from their last eight. If you think QPR can spring a last day shock then you can back them at 12/1 (GENERAL) while the draw is available 11/2 ( GENERAL). Daniel Sturridge is in insane goal scoring form netting seven in his last four and bookmakers are aware of this having him 10/3 (bet365) to score first or 4/6 (STAN JAMES/888 SPORT) to score anytime. I expect Liverpool to dominate so take them at 6/4 (CORAL/paddy Power/188 BET) to win both halves.
Man City take on in a game between two sides who will already be on the summer holidays as they have nothing to play for. City should win this though I would not recommend backing them at 4/11(STAN JAMES/888 SPORT). The Canaries will be buoyed by their victory over West Brom (4-0) though away from home they are a much different side so I can not advise getting on Norwich at 11/1 (BETVICTOR ) or the draw at 9/2 (GENERAL). The last three head to head meetings have produced a total of 20 goals with Man City scoring 15 of these. Norwich centre-back Ryan Bennett is a massive 80/1 (bet365) to score the opener and at 1/3 the odds on unlimited scorers. The defender scored against Reading a few weeks ago and then came close to scoring Sunday though the goal was credited as a Gareth McAuley own goal.
It is mission complete for both Southampton and Stoke who have secured their Premier League status for another year. The Saints are a very short 4/5 (GENERAL) to win the game and considering they have won none of their last five games. Stoke are a little bit of value at 17/4 (BETVICTOR) while the draw is 11/4 (TOTESPORT/betfred/BETVICTOR). Take a chance on Stoke on the Asian Handicap + 0.75 at 11/12 (188 BET) which pays out full on a Stoke win or the draw while returning only a half loss if they lose by one goal. Tony Pulis has spoken of the importance of three points as every place is money a club like Stoke needs while the Southampton manager threatened to quit if the executive chairman Nicola Cortese is sacked.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Stoke +0.75 at 11/12 (188 BET) on the Asian Handicap v Southampton
SILVER: Liverpool to win both halves v QPR, 6/4 (CORAL/paddy power/188 BET)
BRONZE: Ryan Bennett EW to score first v Man City, 80/1 (bet365)
