With both Manchester clubs not in action until Sunday Chelsea could be as much as four points clear at the top of the Premier League come Saturday evening. It is 2/5 (pinnacle) that Chelsea claim all three points against a Stoke side that have won none of the last ten meetings between these sides. Stoke have started the season with four draws from four games and the draw again here is priced at 77/19 (pinnacle). If you think the Potters can hand Chelsea only their second defeat in their last 12 Premier League home games you can get 19/2 (Totesport/betfred/BetVictor). I would recommend the 11/10 (ladbrokes) on both teams to score which would have paid in eight of the last 11 Stoke games in the top flight and in five of their last six Chelsea Premier League home games.

Draws have been very common in the league this season with 14 of the 40 games in the top flight ending all square. With the usual price of the draw being around 12/5 and the average amount of draws being over three a week I have marked out three games for you which I think look likely to end in a draw this week. If just one of these comes in you will return a profit. The first one of these games is Southampton at home to Aston Villa. Villa have started to find their feet under Paul Lambert beating Swansea last weekend and getting a draw at Newcastle the weekend before. The Saints know that they need to pick up points from their home games and will be ready to go in this one. The draw is 12/5 (general) here. The second draw bet is in the game between West Ham and Sunderland. The Black Cats have drawn each of their three league games this season. The Hammers have won both of their home games though might find Sunderland tougher opponents than Aston Villa and Fulham. The draw is a best priced 12/5 (Totesport/betfred/Coral). The third and final draw recommendation is in the game between Newcastle and Norwich. The Magpies have won just one of their last six Premier League Games while the Canaries have drawn each of their last three. The draw is an even bigger 3/1 (Blue Sq/ Stan James/888 Sport).

West Brom take on Reading on Saturday and I like the look of the home side at 16/19 (Pinnacle). The Baggies have won six of their last nine home games. Reading have won none of their last eight at West Brom in the Premier League and just one of their last ten games in the top flight. Those looking to inflate the price might want to consider taking either the Shane Long/West Brom score/win double at 5/2 (betfred) or the 14/5 Romelu Lukaku/West Brom score/win double.

Wigan against Fulham is a tricky one to call bearing in mind the awful away form of Fulham. I like the 9/11 (32 Red) available on both teams to score as the home side tend to find the net at their own ground while Fulham have new firepower in Dimitar Berbatov.

The final game of the weekend is the sunday game between Tottenham and QPR. I think Spurs at 1/2 (general) is a little too short so instead I will take some of the 14/1 that Coral are offering on Aaron Lennon to be the first goalscorer or the 4/1 ladbrokes are going on anytime scorer. Despite the number of new signings AVB has kept faith with Lennon and this is far too big a price on a player playing in a forward position for the fancied home team.
