La Liga preview and odds: Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid
Sep 21, 2016 22:00pm - Camp Nou
La Liga
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will both be looking to gain ground on league leaders Real Madrid when they go head-to-head at the Camp Nou in La Liga on Wednesday night.
Title contenders already playing catch up
After winning their opening two games of the season, Barcelona were unexpectedly beaten 1-2 on home soil by newly-promoted Deoprtivo Alaves to hand the early initiative in the title race to arch rivals Real Madrid.
That loss was followed up by a comfortable 1-5 victory away to the newbies from Leganes, that left the reigning champions three points adrift in second place in the table. They must now try to maintain their winning habit while hoping that Los Blancos stumble.
Next up for Luis Enrique`s men is a home tie against a team that has not beaten them at the Camp Nou in any of their last 15 meetings.
Atletico Madrid come into this game unbeaten in the league, having drawn their opening two game against the newly-promoted pair of Deportivo Alaves and Leganes before winning back-to-back games away to Celta de Vigo (0-4) and at home to Sporting Gijon (5-0).
Diego Simeone`s men have conceded just one goal this season, fewer than any other team in the league. That could all change this week as they face the league`s top scorers away from home.
Team news
The home side should be back to full strength with the MSN trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar set to start once again.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Tiago, Moyà and Alessio Cerci.

Betting odds and tips
The visitors have not won a match at the Camp Nou in over 10 years but these games are often tight affairs and things can sometimes get a bit heated. The last two games between the two (in all competitions) both finished 2-1 and produced a total of three red and 16 yellow cards.
