The first of the live double header in the Premier League comes from Villa Park where Aston Villa play host to Man United (13:30, SKY SPORTS). It seems like every week I write that a certain team has not won against Man United for so many years and then they go on and defeat the Red Devils. This week it is the turn of Aston Villa who have not won any of their last 18 matches at home to United. Villa have already lost five of their nine home games in all comeptitions this season and United are 4/5 (william hill) the victory. That being said I can not bring myself to side with them at the moment. I think Villa look a little short to be taking on United with at odds of 9/2 (william hill) while the draw is available at 14/5 (bet365/BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES).
The best bet in the game comes in the player to be shown a card market which BETVICTOR run. Gabriel Agbonlahor has been booked three times in the last six games and with United using overlapping full-backs like Patrice Evra he could be asked to defend a lot in this game. Odds of 4/1 on him to be booked at anytime are worth an interest in a tough game to predict.
Also kicking off at 13:30 though not on television is the game from Carrow Road as Norwich play host to Swansea in a clash between two midtable sides.
Just two points seperates these two sides and this could be a close encounter with bookmakers struggling to split the pair with Swansea marginal favourites at odds of 17/10 (GENERAL) and the Canaries slightly higher at 15/8 (bet365/STAN JAMES). The Swans have won three of their four games away at teams beneath them this season while Norwich are unbeaten in their last four meetings between these sides. The draw is the most likely result especially as I think both sides will be happy with a point. Norwich manager Chris Hughton is safety first while Laudrup might be happy with a point following a run of five defeats from their last away games in all competitions. The bet then is to take the 12/5 (TOTESPORT/betfred/BETVICTOR) on this game to end all square with the saver option of a one goal winning margin bet at 17/20 (betway).
The second half of the television double header on Sunday is the 16:00 (SKYSPORTS) game from White Hart Lane that sees Tottenham take on Liverpool.
Tottenham are the 6/4 (GENERAL) favourites for the fixture as they look to continue their bounce back from the 6-0 mauling at Man City that has since seen them go on to win at Fulham and Sunderland. The head-to-head record favours the North London side who have won six of their last seven at home to Liverpool in all competitions.
The Merseysiders are starting to look a little stretched with Steven Gerrard the latest name to join the injury list. They have won their last two games those came at home to strugglers West Ham and Norwich and away from home they have taken just two points from their last four games. They can be backed at 2/1 (bet365/ladbrokes/william hill) for the victory while the draw is available 27/11 (888 SPORT/unibet). The bet of the game and of the weekend is 6/5 (boylesports/WINNER/BWIN) are offering on Luis Suarez to score anytime as the Uruguayan has six in his last two games and will fancy his chances against a Spurs defence that was ripped apart by Man City recently.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Luis Suarez to score anytime v Tottenham, 6/5 (boylesports/WINNER/BWIN)
SILVER: Norwich v Swansea to end drawn, 12/5 (TOTESPORT/BETFED/BETVICTOR)
SAVER: One Goal Winning margin Norwich v Swansea, 17/20 (betway)
BRONZE: Gabriel Agbonlahor to be shown a card v Man Utd, 4/1 (BETVICTOR)
