Newcastle have not won a league game at Old Trafford since February 1972, then again Everton had not won there since 1992 and they did the business on Wednesday. What price another United defeat? Well 13/2 (BETVICTOR/CORAL/WINNER) and the Magpies will take confidence from recent wins over Chelsea and Tottenham.

United are an unbackable 1/2 (GENERAL) as they look to embark on another unbeaten run after a defeat to Everton on Wednesday marked an end of a run that had seem them go 12 games unbeaten. The Red Devils know they must start another such run if they are to keep the pressure on the top sides especially Arsenal who are a remarkable 12 points ahead of them. Newcastle are not going to be easy opponents though as they had won four straight before coming undone against Swansea. The Magpies seem to get themselves up for the big games and the 13/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred) on them to win the game might have a few supporters interested though the draw at 18/5 (BETVICTOR) would be a more likely result.

The Red Devils will also have to get all three points without Wayne Rooney who is suspended, while Robin van Persie has not featured in the last four games. Moyes will hope the Dutchman will return as the creative options behind those two are limited and he is evens (GENERAL) to net at anytime while Javier Hernandez is a 6/5 (TOTESPORT/betfred/CORAL) chance. For Newcastle Loic Remy has been in excellent goalscoring form and can be backed at 15/4 (bet365) while Yoan Gouffran. who has three in his last five. is a 13/2 (TOTESPORT/betfred) chance.

I like the look of Patrice Evra who is 33/1 (BWIN) to score first and 11/1 with the same firm to score anytime. The United fullback netted in both league games between these sides last season and managed a couple of shots on target against Everton. Santon and Debuchy are given licence to get forward for Newcastle and this can give the Frenchman space to exploit at the back. In a tough looking game to predict this seems to be the best option.

We tipped up Crystal Palace at 6/1 before the game Monday night as a value bet to survive the drop. The odds are now close to half that following a 1-0 home victory over West Ham on Monday night. The victory along with the appointment of Tony Pulis and former Cardiff Head of Recuritment Ian Moody gives the Eagles a real fighting chance of survival.

Cardiff are the visitors on Saturday (15:00) and Palace are 7/4 (BETVICTOR) to make it back-to-back home victories. They will fancy their chances against a side that have won just one of their last eight. The Welsh team though showed at Stoke in midweek that they are difficult to break down and the draw could be an option at 23/10 (SKYBET/sportingbet/BETVICTOR) while victory for the visitors is priced at 15/8 (BETVICTOR).

The best bet in this game is one that paid out on Monday and that is the time of the first goal coming after the 27th minute .BETVICTOR are offering odds of 21/20 which seems decent as this bet would have paid in four of the last six Cardiff games and each of the last six Palace games. This could be a tight encounter between two sides with a safety first manager so look for the first goal to come late or perhaps even not to come at all.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Time of first goal after 27th minute between Palace & Cardiff, 21/20 (BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Patrice Evra to score at anytime v Newcastle, 11/1 (BWIN)
BRONZE: Patrice Evra to score first v Newcastle, 33/1 (BWIN0
