The return of the Europa League will be a welcome distraction for Andre Vilas-Boas whose Tottenham side are suffering a bad time of things in the league including a comprehensive defeat to Man City last weekend. In the Europa League though the English side are going well with four win from their four games and have already secured qualification to the knockout stages. They could not have asked for an easier opponent than Tromso who have recently been relegated from the Norwegian league and have just one point from their four group games so far. Tottenham have conceded just once in the group stages so the 11/10 (BETVICTOR) on them to win to nil will be popular in this early kick-off (18:00, ITV 4).
Lyon take on Real Betis Thursday evening in a game that will be shown live on BT SPORT (18:00). These two sides sit one and two in Group I and the French side can go top with victory here against a Betis side who sit bottom of their domestic table having lost each of their last three. Lyon have lost just one of their last seven in all games and are good value at 23/20 (BETVICTOR) for the victory.
Also live at this time (18:00) is the game between Sevilla and Estoril on BT SPORT 2 and the Spanish side are 4/11 (TOTESPORT/betfred/william hill) and it is hard to see past them disposing of an Estoril side who have just two points from their four games so far.
Swansea take on Valencia and this match will be live on ITV4 (20:05). The Welsh side put in a stunning performance when seeing off the Spanish side in their last meeting and they are 11/10 (GENERAL) to do so again. Valencia though are an improved outfit since then and with Swansea not having Michu the visitors will fancy their chances of getting something from the game. They can be backed to do so at 11/4 (GENERAL) while the draw is a 5/2 (BETVICTOR) chance. The best bet in this game comes in taking the 10/11 (STAN JAMES) on the YES in the both teams to score market as this would have paid in eight of the last nine Valencia matches and in each of the last three Swansea games.
Wigan will be looking back to bounce back from their loss to Rubin Kazan on matchday four when they hot Zulte-Waregem (20:05, BT SPORT). The English side are 19/20 (paddy Power/CORAL) to defeat their Belgian visitors. I think the Belgians are being overlooked here as they are flying high in their domestic league and are unbeaten in their last six fixtures. You can take Waregem with a 0.5 start on the Asian Handicap at odds of 39/40 (bet365) which will pay out on the Belgians either winning or drawing the game.
The final live game is from France and sees Bordeaux take on Eintracht Frankfurt on BT SPORT 2 (20:05). The French side need to win to keep alive their qualifcation hopes after losing three of their last four matches. They are 17/10 (bet365/BETVICTOR) to defeat their German visitors who have no win in their last five games.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Lyon to defeat Real Betis, 23/20 (BETVICTOR)
SILVER: Zulte Waregem +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Wigan, 39/40 (bet365)
BRONZE: YES in both teams to score between Swansea & Valencia, 10/11 (STAN JAMES)
