Swansea did the double over Newcastle last season winning 2-1 away in November before a victory in front of their own fans in March. They are 5/4 (paddy Power) to emerge victorious on Wednesdy night when these sides meet in the live BT Sport game (19:45). Newcastle are on a great run of form having won each of their last four games including victories over Chelsea and Tottenham. The Magpies have already won in Wales this season (beating Cardiff) and are 11/4 (bet365) to complete the double .
The Magpies goal threat is lead by Loic Remy who has topped score for them this season and he is 2/1 (BWIN) to score at anytime here. I like the look of Yoan Gouffran who has three in his last four games and is over-priced at 6/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred) to get among the goals. For Swansea it is hard to know where the goal threat will come from with Bony and Michu expected to miss the game. You can get 5/2 (GENERAL) that Alvaro Vasquez nets for the first time this season.
Rene Meulensteen is a well regarded coach who has been highly praised by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ryan Giggs amongst others. The former United coach will now make the step into management as he attempts to turn around the mess at Fulham. The London side were shocking in a weekend loss to West Ham and few will give them a chance against Tottenham on Wednesday night (20:00). Andre Villas-Boas is a man under pressure as his recent arguements with the media have shown. He though will have been pleased with the response of his players when they drew 2-2 with Man United on Sunday and they will be a popular bet at 8/11 (paddy Power) to pick up three much needed points. I can not argue against Tottenham as Fulham have been awful for a long time losing their six matches and conceding 18 goals in the process. I think the North London side should win this but I am not interested at those prices as they have not won any of their last four games and it is always a danger how a side reacts to a new manager.
The best bet is taking the 11/10 (BETVICTOR) that the first goal comes after the 26th minute. Tottenham are not blessed with attacking talent and struggle to break sides down while you can be sure that Fulham will look to keep things tight at the back early.
The other 20:00 kick-off in the Premier League on Wednesday night cames from the Hawthorns where West Brom entertain Man City. West Brom are playing well at home and have lost none of their last five in front of their own fans and Arsenal failed to win here earlier in the season. You can back the Baggies at 5/1 (GENERAL) while the draw is also available at odds of 16/5 (bet365/BETVICTOR).
City are the 13/20 (BETVICTOR) favourites for the game though they have won just one of their last six Premier League away games. It seems crazy to think that this run will continue and you have to think it is only a matter of time before they start pick up the points on their travels. I think this could be the place that they do it. I like the idea of enchancing those odds in the half time/full time market where City to be ahead in both can be backed at 6/4 (bet365/BETVICTOR/SPREADEX) and the Blue half of Manchester have been ahead at half-time in each of their last ten victories.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Man City HT/FT against West Brom, 6/4 (bet365/BETVICTOR/SPREADEX)
SILVER: Yoan Gouffran to score anytime v Swansea, 6/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred)
BRONZE: First goal after 26th minute Fulham v Tottenham, 11/10 (BETVICTOR)
