Wimbledon is now in the rear view mirror and all roads lead to the US Open on the Tennis circuit. Here is our guide to the best of the bets from the Tour events this week.
The Bet at Home Open, the German Tennis Championship, welcomes 48 top singles players to the clay courts of Hamburg with Roger Federer the headline name. This is the first time in five years that the Swiss ace has competed in the event when he finished runner-up to Nadal. Federer is a four time winner of the event (07/05/04/02) and has a 29-4 record here. He will go off favourite as he is the most talented player in the field though I feel enough reasons exist to take him on. Firstly, he does not have the easiest of draws as Gulbis, Dolgopolov and Janowicz are his potential route to the final. Secondly, the Swiss ace has not been playing good Tennis this year winning just one event so far on the Tour (Halle in June). Thirdly, the Swiss ace is not a great clay court player winning just one clay trophy in the last four years.
Tommy Haas is the second seed and the German will carry the hopes of the home crowd and of ourselves. Nobody knows this venue better than Haas who first competed here in 1997 and was runner-up in 2012. His form has been good making the last 16 at Wimbledon before running into Novak Djokovic. Haas already has a win on clay this season which came also in Germany at Munich in April. The draw has been kind with his third round opponent Carlos Berlocq expected to be tired after double duty Sunday in the final of the singles and doubles of the Bastad Open in Swden. The German will have a last eight match with one of the Italian part Andreas Seppi and Fabio Fogini before a semi-final with Nicolas Almagro.
Nicolas Almagro is the third seed and his best performance here was in 2011 when reaching the final and was a semi-finalist in 2012. The fourth seed is Jerzy Janowicz who was so impressive when reaching the semi-final at Wimbledon. The Pole has taken a week off so should be fresh and confident after his performance at SW19. Janowicz though is making his debut here and his clay performances have not stood out yet. The fifth seed is Juan Monaco who won this event in 2012 and won a clay event in Dusseldorf earlier this year.
Lively outsiders are Mikhail Youhzny who made the semi-finals here in 2011, Carlos Berlocq who won the Bastad Open in Sweden and Italian duo Andreas Seppi and Fabio Fogini,
Also on the ATP Tour this week is the Claro Open in Bogota, Colombia with Kevin Anderson the 15/8 (CORAL) market leader. Other names to look for are Janko Tipsarevic, Igor Sijsling, Xavier Malisse and Colombian duo Sanitago Giraldo and Alejandro Falla . The selection here is Edouard-Roger-Vasselin who has a nice draw and reached a hard court final earlier this season going down to Ernests Gulbis. The Frenchman is available each-way chance at 14/1 (BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES/ladbrokes).
The feature events take place on the WTA Tour is the Bastad Open in Sweden which is headlined by Serena Williams. The American is likely to go off as a very short favourite as the next ranked player on the Tour is Simona Halep who is ranked 30th. The battle will be on then to face Williams in the final and Halep looks the selection.

GOLD: Tommy Haas EW in the ATP Hamburg
SILVER: Edouard Roger-Vasselin EW in the ATP Bogota, 14/1 (BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES/ladbrokes)
BRONZE: Simona Halep EW in the Bastad Open Sweden
