CHELSEA V EVERTON, Saturday 22nd February, 12:45, BT SPORT
A cracker of a game is scheduled for lunchtime when top of the table Chelsea entertain sixth placed Everton. The Blues are the 8/13 (BETVICTOR) favourites for the tie as they look to continue a run of 19 games without defeat at home to the Toffees in all competitions and a spell of form that has seen them win 57 and draw 16 of the 73 league games at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho. The Merseysiders though can take heart from a win at Old Trafford and a point at Arsenal as well as a home victory over Chelsea in September and they can be backed at 6/1 (GENERAL) while the draw is a 3/1 (GENERAL) chance.
The bet in this game is in taking Lacina Traore to score at anytime for the visitors. The player netted in the FA Cup last weekend and with Lukaku unable to play then he will be expected to start. The Ivory Coast forward might be able to take advantage of a Blues backline who has slight doubts over key centre-back John Terry. Those looking for a Chelsea player will see Eden Hazard has five in his last five league home games and the Belgian is 19/10 (BETVICTOR) to score at anytime.
RECOMMENDATION: Lacina Traore to score at anytime v Chelsea, 17/4 (BWIN)
ARSENAL V SUNDERLAND, Saturday 22nd February, 15:00, non live
The Gunners will aim to bounce back from their disappointing loss in midweek to Bayern Munich when they take on Sunderland at the Emirates. The North London side are the short priced 1/3 (WINNER) favourites for the game as they have lost just one of their last 20 Premier League games against Sunderland. The Black Cats have taken points from three of their last five visits to this ground though and the draw is 9/2 (GENERAL) while the away victory is priced at 11/1 (sportingbet/BETVICTOR/STAN JAMES).
The way to play this game is to take the 11/2 (CORAL) on Sunderland in the draw no bet market on the second half. The Gunners were chasing Bayern Munich for large parts of the game following the sending off and they could have some tired legs. The Black Cats while not quite Bayern Munich have a number of players who can use the ball well and have the pace in Adam Johnson to hit on the counter. The former Man City man also merits some consideration at 8/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred) to score anytime as does Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who is 3/1 with the same firms.
RECOMMENDATION: Sunderland draw no bet second half result, 11/2 (CORAL)
CARDIFF V HULL, Saturday 22nd February, 15:00, non live
A crucial battle is set to take place at the bottom of the table when Cardiff play host to Hull in a must win game for both sides. The Welsh side are the 7/4 (BETVICTOR) marginal favourites as they have taken four points from their last two home games. The Tigers can be backed at 2/1 (ladbrokes/william hill) which is no value on a side who have just two away wins this season though one of these came on their last Premier League road trip. The draw is a real option and this can be backed at 9/4 (TOTESPORT/betfred). The best bet from this game though is to take YES in the both teams to score market and this can be backed at 11/10 (CORAL) and would have paid in three of the last five home games the Welsh side has played. The Tigers meanwhile have found the net in six of their last nine away games.
RECOMMENDATION: YES in both teams to score, 11/10 (CORAL)
