Fa Cup

A triple-header of FA Cup Football gets underway on Sunday with the live ITV game from Goodison Park (13:30) between Everton and Swansea. The Toffees are 8/13 (GENERAL) as Roberto Martinez looks to manage a side to FA Cup glory for the second successive season. The Merseysiders must first get past a Swansea side who have already won at Old Trafford in the FA Cup this season and can be backed at 11/2 (bet365/paddy Power) while the draw is 3/1 (bet365/SKYBET/BETVICTOR).

I think it has to be worth a little interest on the Welsh side with a 0.5 start on the Asian Handicap at 11/8 (WINNER) as this will pay out the Swansea win or the game ending drawn. Everton have been struggling for goals in the absence of Romelu Lukaku who is unlikely to feature here. The Swans have picked up four points from their two games under Gary Monk and the Welsh side know all about cup success having lifted the League Cup last season.

Those looking for a goalscorer bet on the game might be interested in Wilfried Bony at 3/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred) in the anytime scorer market as he carries the main goal threat for the Welsh side and has netted three times in two FA Cup games this season.

The second game of the day, though not televised, kicks-off at 15:00 and features Sheffield United at home to Nottingham Forest from Bramall Lane.

Forest are the 13/10 (GENERAL) favourites for the game as they are in the higher division and come into the match in great form with no defeat in their last 16.

Despite their struggles in League One you have to think Nigel Clough will have his Sheff Utd side up for the game against the side his Dad managed for so many years. The Blades are also dangerous opponents at home having gone seven games unbeaten in front of their own fans and they can be backed at 5/2 (bet365) while the draw is a 12/5 (GENERAL) chance. The best way to play this game might be in the both teams to score market where YES can be backed at 15/16 (888 SPORT/unibet). This bet would have paid in eight of the last ten home games the Blades have played while Forest have only once failed to find the back of the net in their away games this season.

The third and final game of the day is probably the pick of them all, the battle from the Emirates as Arsenal take on Liverpool (16:00, BT SPORT).

The last time these sides met the Merseysiders destroyed the Gunners and they are 13/8 (betfred) for the FA Cup victory here. Liverpool won in midweek in Fulham to put them right in the title race and it will be interesting to see if they make any changes to their side. It is this worry then that is putting me off backing the Reds.

Arsenal are 9/5 (bet365/888 SPORT/unibet) for the much needed morale boosting victory though again it is hard to know what Wenger will do with a big game against Bayern Munich in midweek. The draw then might be the better option then at 13/5 (GENERAL). You will have to think that Arsenal will approach things are little more cautious then they did against Liverpool last time out so the 13/5 (BWIN) on this game to be 0-0 at half-time looks to be a little bit of value. The Gunners showed against Man Utd a renewed caution and they will be likely to do the same against Liverpool this time out.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Swansea +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Everton, 11/8 (WINNER)
SILVER: Wilfried Bony to score anytime v Everton, 3/1 (TOTESPORT/betfred)
BRONZE: 15/16 (888 SPORT/unibet) both teams to score Sheff U v Nottingham Forest VALUE: 0-0 HT between Arsenal and Liverpool, 13/5 (BWIN)
