The live game in the Championship Saturday sees Leeds entertain Leicester at Elland Road (12:15, SKY SPORTS). Bookmakers make the visitors the 6/5 (BETVICTOR) favourites for the game as the Foxes have won five consecutive games in the league while the Yorkshire side have no wins in their last six, losing each of their last four. It is hard to see past the Midlands side at these prices especially when you consider the way they are playing and the fact that Leeds were hit for six by Sheffield Wednesday last week.
The bet of the day in the division though comes in taking the in-form Sheffield Wednesday to get something from their visit to Turf Moor. The Owls are unbeaten in seven league games against the Clarets and have not lost in their last six games in all competitions. Stuart Gray has done a great job since taking over and confidence will be high at the Yorkshire side having hit Leeds for six last Saturday and then Macclesfield for four in the cup in midweek. Burnley are the only side yet to lose at home though they have seen Leicester pull away after a run of just four victories from their last 12 games. Take Wednesday then on the Asian Handicap with a 0.5 start as this will pay out on an Owls win or the draw and is available at ladbrokes at odds of 1006/1000.
The game of the day in League One sees Brentford take on Walsall at the Bescot Stadium. A lot of you might be attracted by the 7/5 (GENERAL) on offer about the Bees as the London side are on a remarkable run of form that has seen them win each of their last eight league games. A word of caution though the Saddlers are no mugs and often raise their game for the bigger sides having beaten Wolves and Peterborough and drawing with Leyton Orient. At home they are especially dangerous having won six of their last eight so you could make a case that they offer some value at 9/4 (bet365) while the draw is 12/5 (BETVICTOR/ladbrokes).
The best bet in the division is in taking Port Vale to see off Oldham at Vale Park. The Valiants are going well in ninth place and are difficult to beat at their own ground. They have a record of four wins, one draw and just one defeat (to high standing Preston) from their last six league home games. The visitors meanwhile have just one of their last six on their travels. You can take Vale at 10/11 (william hill) in the draw no bet market or 17/10 (bet365/BETVICTOR/william hill) in the match result market.
Scunthorpe are the current leaders in League Two and they are 17/20 (bet365/william hill) to see off an AFC Wimbledon that have won just one of their last nine league games. If the Iron were to slip up then Burton could take advantage and go top if they can see off Bury. The Brewers are in good form with no loss in their last nine league games and they are 7/4 (GENERAL) to see off Bury at the weekend. The Shakers though are in good form with no home defeats in their last six and they are also 7/4 (bet365/BETVICTOR) for victory.
The best bet though comes in the game between Wycombe and Oxford at Adams Park. The Chairboys have won just one of their last ten and none of their last eight at home, losing five of these. Oxford meanwhile remain unbeaten from home in the league this season and you can take 9/5 (BETVICTOR) a win or 21/20 (william hill) in the draw no bet market.
BEST OF THE BETS
GOLD: Oxford to beat Wycombe, draw no bet, 21/20 (WILLIAM HILL)
SILVER: Port Vale to beat Oldham, draw no bet, 10/11 (WILLIAM HILL)
BRONZE: Sheff Wed +0.5 on Asian Handicap v Burnley, 1006/1000 (ladbrokes)
