Tigers can maul Canaries and end Hughton era at club

Premier League

It seems it is the turn of Cardiff to go to the Etihad to get hammered and bookmakers make City as short as 1/7 (GENERAL) as they look to continue a run of 11 home wins in a row.

The Welsh side had a good start under new man Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a win at Newcastle in the FA Cup though followed it with a hugely disappointing loss at home to West Ham in the Premier League. Even though they saw off City at their own ground earlier in the season it is hard to see the Welsh side getting anything here and bookmakers agree making them 25/1 (BETVICTOR) for victory and 10/1 (bet365) the draw. The best bet in this game is in taking either of the strike pair Sergio Aguero or Alvaro Negredo to score two or more at odds of 3/1 (CORAL and bet365 for Ageuro). Negredo has scored seven times in his last four while Aguero has scored two or more on five occasions.

It is now eight games without a win for Chris Hughton and patient is wearing thin with the Canaries boss with Chief Executive David McNally not overwhelming in support for the man in charge in a radio interview Thursday. A defeat to Hull will likely spell the end of his time in charge and former Canaries legend Steve Bruce must smell blood. His Tigers side have been excellent so far this season and recent signings of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic will move to address their biggest problem from the first half of the season, lack of goals. The Canaries were abject in defeat to Fulham and having watched them fail to break down ten men Hull earlier in the season I struggle to see how they can do so against 11 men. Take the 13/10 (BWIN) on Hull in the draw no bet market.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce got a couple of much needed boosts last weekend when Andy Carroll returned and his side ran out 2-0 winners at Cardiff. This weekend the Hammers welcome Newcastle. The London side are the 28/13 (888 SPORT/unibet) outsiders for this game in a battle between two managers who have had spells in charge of both clubs.

The Magpies are on a little slump with no wins from their last four though they have had to play both Man City and Arsenal in these games. I think the North Eastern side should be favourites though odds of 6/4 (bet365) on them winning does not appeal.

The way to play this is to take the evens (paddy Power/betway) on this game to have under 2.5 goals. The last three meetings between the pair have produced a total of just one goal while the Magpies have gone 280 minutes without a Premier League goal.

The live evening game on SKY SPORTS comes from Anfield (17:30) as Liverpool take on Aston Villa and the Merseysiders are the very short priced 1/4 (paddy Power/ladbrokes) for the game as they look to continue a run of three straight victories and eight straight at home. The Villians have just one win from their last eight in all competitions though they tend to do their best work away from home and have lost just one of their last four at Anfield. You can back the Midlands side at 13/1 (GENERAL) while the draw is a 5/1 (GENERAL) chance. The best bet in this game though could be the 11/10 (boylesports) that both teams score. Villa have put goal troubles behind them to net in each of their last four including against Arsenal and Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in just two of their last ten in the league.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Hull to beat Norwich, draw no bet, 13/10 (BWIN)
SILVER: Sergio Ageuro to score two or more goals, 3/1 (CORAL/bet365)
BRONZE: Alvaro Negredo to score two or more goals, 3/1 (CORAL)
